About

The Upper Valley Aquatic Center, located at 100 Arboretum Ln, White River Junction, VT, is a state-of-the-art aquatic and fitness facility serving the Upper Valley region. It offers a diverse range of amenities, including multiple pools and a fitness center, along with various programs such as swim lessons, competitive swimming, water fitness classes, and general recreational swimming, establishing itself as a vital community hub for health and wellness.

The facility maintains distinct temperatures for its pools: the Competition Pool is typically kept at 79°F, the Warm-Water Pool is maintained at 90°F, and the Leisure Pool, which features slides and a splash pad, ranges between 82-84°F.

What are people saying (AI review summary)? The reviews present a mixed experience, with many praising the facility's cleanliness, good maintenance, and friendly, attentive staff and lifeguards. Popular features like the 'lazy river' are highlighted, and benefits such as a 50% military discount are appreciated. Memberships are noted for offering comprehensive advantages, including free group fitness classes and complimentary daycare for young children, appealing to active families and fitness enthusiasts. However, a significant recurring complaint is the inconsistent and misleading information provided regarding capacity when calling ahead. Multiple visitors reported driving considerable distances after being told the facility was not at capacity, only to arrive and find it overcrowded or with insufficient time to swim, leading to considerable disappointment and wasted effort. This poor communication has resulted in some vowing not to return and advising caution during lessons or potentially busy times.

Called ahead to check capacity as the website recommends (we're not at capacity and probably won't be today), drove an hour to get here with our baby for her first swim, find out it's a 45 minute wait and it closes in an hour. Pool closes in 45 minutes. It's bad enough a day pass is nearly $20, but to drive an hour and not even be able to swim? Really doubt we'll be back.

"Lazy river is the funnest river in the whole world!" -P, age 5 What a great spot! The staff was so friendly and welcoming and the facility was clean and well maintained. I wish we had something similar in our town.

Never been, so called ahead to inquire about restrictions for the afternoon and was told all was open, just the splashpad fountains would be off for the ongoing swim lessons. We packed up our two young kids and drove a half hour there only to find out the pool was too full to swim. Not sure we'll be back. Really disappointed our toddler and ruined our afternoon outing. This was a weekday. I should have been told this was a possibility and given info on less busy hours when I called. Don't go when there are lessons.

Great place to spend a rainy winter day! The 50% military discount was a lovely surprise. Front staff and lifeguards were very kind and attentive. Very clean and a lot of checks on bathroom and changing facilities throughout the day.

If you are a swimmer, fitness aficionado or active family, this seems to be the place to have it all! As part of the membership you gain access to a plethora of free group classes, such as instructor led spinning, yoga and more. What is a big plus for families with young kids is also the available day care that is offered for free as part of the membership. Of course on top of all this they also offer swimming lessons, CPR courses and more for a fee (discounted for members).
