About

King City Pools, located at 401 Division St in King City, CA, is a public aquatic facility managed by the City of King City. It serves as a community hub for various swimming activities, including recreational open swim, lap swimming, and swimming lessons, primarily during the warmer months. The facility typically features a larger main pool and often a shallower children's or wading pool, providing a refreshing recreational option for local residents.

Specific, consistently published temperatures for King City Pools are not readily available. However, public recreational pools of this nature are typically heated to a comfortable range, often between 78-82°F (25-28°C), to ensure an enjoyable experience for swimmers during its operational season.

What are people saying (AI review summary)? The reviews indicate a mixed sentiment towards the pools. Users who experienced the pools while open praise them as a 'best place' for 'fun' with 'clean clear water' suitable for 'family fun'. However, there is significant frustration regarding the extensive closure periods, particularly in early September during hot weather when users feel 'summer isn't even over'. Critics highlight the perceived mismanagement, the high cost to taxpayers for facilities that are closed for much of the year (e.g., August to June), and a lack of clear communication about closures, with online information sometimes being inaccurate.

CLOSED UNTIL JUNE? Hey, it was 110 degrees yesterday, Sept. 2. Today it is only 94. Tomorrow is supposed to be in the 90's. The only option for people to cool off is to go swimming in the muddy river and hope that the kids don't get swept away by the currents. Hey, I'm only a stupid architect living here in KC but I'll bet you that that swim complex probably cost the taxpayers around $5 million to build. And it's closed 75% of the time? Closed from August to June? Closed to the taxpayers that paid for it's construction? What a city boondoggle! Somebody made some money building that. See attached sign board and closed pools. Note that there is no notice that the pools are closed until June. Try calling the pool phone # and it just rings inside the empty building and you get a recording. Like I said, it's a real city boondoggle. Or more realistically, a city rip-off.
