About

Bright pool featuring a shallow end with fountains, waterslides and 4-ft deep pool.

Specific and consistent pool temperature information for the Municipal Pool is not readily available or publicly published. As a general outdoor public swimming facility in San Angelo, TX, its water temperature is primarily influenced by ambient weather conditions, meaning it is typically unheated or heated naturally by the sun, fluctuating with seasonal and daily temperatures.

What are people saying (AI review summary)? The pool itself is highly praised as excellent for families and young children, offering features like zero-depth entry, various water amenities, and slides, with generally attentive and professional lifeguards. It's described as refreshing and well-maintained, often recommended over alternatives for a calmer experience. However, several downsides are noted: limited shaded areas, concerns regarding bathroom cleanliness, and a pricey snack bar with often unsatisfactory food and warm drinks. While outside water is now permitted and card payments are accepted, there are strict rules for parties and outside food. Additionally, some reviews mention negative staff interactions, including a rude manager and instances of lifeguards being mean to children.

Summary: pool is 5 stars, everything else is maybe a 3? The pool itself is great for young kids. It is very family friendly. Always have several lifeguards on duty. This pool is our favorite by far…. But…. The down side is a few things: -not nearly enough shaded areas available -bathrooms/changing areas/showers could be cleaner -parties you can’t bring anything in except the cake so all food has to come from the snack bar -the snack bar has a lot of options but not good(ex.drinks warm)

Something for everyone at this pool. Free on street parking outside. Admission is $5/person starting at age three. Shade is limited, but there are several seating options around the pool like chairs, covered picnic area, tiered bleacher like stone seating, lawn chairs for sunbathing, etc. Please note-NO OUTSIDE FOOD OR DRINKS ALLOWED INSIDE. For the budget conscious, eat before you go and use the free water fountain beside the shallow end near the men’s bathroom. Concessions are pricey and are located in the corner building between bathrooms with seating available. The shallow end starts with a zero depth entry and small fountains for young children to enjoy. There are many water features and divided areas in the shallow end and even some in-water seating. There are many entry/exit points around the pool. The deep end is only four feet deep. There are two large water slides (one open, one a closed tube) but no diving boards. There were 3-4 lifeguards stationed in and around the pool and all were attentive. The pool is conveniently located beside the Concho River which boasts a lovely river walk, is next door to the art museum and is around the corner from historic Fort Concho for ease for tourists. Highly recommend.

Manager was being rude, I witnessed her yelling at a worker very rudely and it just ruined other people’s and I vibe. Manager had curly hair, if I’m not mistaken her name was Jocelyn.

A great pool especially if you have smaller children. They updated their policy to allow water inside- so ignore older reviews that complain about that. An additional update: you can pay with a card for both admission and for the snack bar. It’s a very refreshing and well-maintained pool with, from what I can tell, are very diligent and professional lifeguards and staff. If your kids are under 12/13 then definitely consider taking them here before heading to Brown’s. Brown’s is great, too, but for a calmer experience and for less crowds (but a smaller pool and more shallow water) then head to the Municipal Pool.
