Very nice pool, the kiddie pool area is awesome! Love the dedicated lap lane for adults, that's pretty progressive! Although, I might suggest consideration for pool managers to open that lane if it's not in use. Pool was rather comfortably crowded. That extra space would've made a significant difference. I dunno what the whole story is, or how difficult the process of removing the divider or moving it over against the wall might be. Like, I don't know how often it's utilized. So, I'll leave that here.... Great place! Attentive, kind staff, other patrons were friendly and polite. So 5 stars! Keep up the good work!
Awesome pool with 2 water slides and kiddie area and diving board. There is locker rooms and a food area as well. It can get very busy. They have free swim days when it is a Fri, sat or sun with weather 90 degrees or above just check website or call in to double check. Fun for the whole family.
The pool is clean and spacious. The water slides are great, even for adults! Overall, I really like the place; however, there are a few things that I wld love to see tweaked. 1. More lawn chairs, or allow you to bring your own. (There are only less than 20 chairs available to the whole park). 2. Allow coolers with food and drink. 3. I love that the offer adult swim, that's awesome, but it wld be great if the adults were allowed to keep using the slides instead of shutting them down. (Sometimes the lines are long and backed up with kids, so during adult swim, the option wld be great!)
A big public pool. About 50 meters long by 20 meters wide, with a diving well and several water slides. Fairly old. Not usually super crowded. Used mainly by families, day camps, day care, babysitters. The swimmers have a very good vibe. Staff is good. Good pool for playing basketball, tossing a football, etc. Lots of shallow water for ages 6-9. There is a splash pool for the youngest ages. Wherever they are, children 5 and under have to have an adult within 5 feet. There's a small snack bar and patio dining area. A season pass is a pretty good deal. I think I paid $70. It is not open weekdays in August (lifeguards go back to school). I've never seen any trouble at all. An occasional whistle to get young people not to go into the lap lane. That's about it. One lap lane, always there for lap swimming. The water is too shallow at either end, 3 feet deep. It has a decided current behind you going one way, and against the other. Swimmers are very cooperative. And usually only one to three. The pool was not built to hold swim meets or swim team practices. It's designed more to give lots of play area that's 3-4.5 feet deep. For lap swimmers IU Outdoor Pool is far better, but Bryan Park is very convenient for some of us. Lap swimming is discouraged outside the one lane, even when the pool is almost empty. Locker room showers are good, but take 2 or 3 minutes to heat up in the morning. Locker rooms are spacious, very basic. Most people come with their swim suits on, ready to roll. There are no lockers. Kickboards are available if you ask.
The pool is great and well maintained. The slides and diving board are fun, and there's a separate area for little kids. Life guards are all awesome and responsible.
