Traditional pool offering public swimming, lessons, and fitness classes, plus a snack deck and wading pool.
Outdoor pools operated by Sioux Falls Parks and Recreation, including Kuehn Pool, are generally not heated. Their water temperature is naturally regulated by the ambient air temperature and sun exposure, meaning temperatures will fluctuate throughout the swimming season and on a daily basis.
What are people saying (AI review summary)? Kuehn pool is generally viewed as a good place for a few hours of swimming, featuring two diving boards and a kids' pool with a small slide, decent bathrooms, and a vending machine. Many visitors express nostalgic affection for the pool, and lifeguards are noted as friendly. However, several points of frustration were raised, including inconsistent open/closed times for the wading pool, a lack of shade and sufficient seating, and variable float availability. Some visitors found staff efficiency could be improved. Large daycare groups can cause significant queues and crowded conditions, particularly on weekday summer mornings, leading to recommendations to visit after 3 PM. Accessibility is a concern, as there are only ladders, not stairs, for the shallow end, which also lacks shade.
Reviews
the site shows wading pool open 1-8 pm. You arrive and they say. closed 5-6. Very upset children. There is only one umbrella table to use and many young children with no protection. Every time you come the amount of floats very. With all your restrictions makes for a very frustrating visit. Life guards are friendly.
Grew up in this pool. Love it!
Kuehn pool is a nice place to swim for a few hours and not a day long. It has two diving boards and a kids pool. The kids pool aittle slide too. It has a vending machine and decent bathrooms. It doesn't have very many pool chairs so I would suggest you bring an extra towel to lay on the ground. Overall this is a great place and and fun to swim for a few hours.
It's okay, The staff could be better and more efficient. If it is summer time make sure to get there before the day cares come or leave, it takes like 10 minutes of standing in the hot sun for them to go through.
Friendly staff, 2 diving boards, but no slide. No stairs to easily access the shallower end, only ladders. If you don't like a large crowd, in the summertime on weekdays, go after 3pm to avoid the daycare mayhem. Some of the deeper end (5-6 ft) is shaded, but the shallow end is not.
