Seasonal 6-lane pool with a wading area, hot showers, picnic spots, and swim classes.
The natural waters at Whitmore Pool generally maintain a warm temperature, typically ranging from 98°F to 102°F (37°C to 39°C), suitable for comfortable soaking.
What are people saying (AI review summary)? Whitmore Pool is highly praised as an exceptional outdoor swimming destination, particularly for lap swimmers, set amidst the beautiful Eastern Sierras. Reviewers commend the clean, silky, and lightly chlorinated water for its refreshing feel and buoyancy. It's considered an affordable option ($6 for swimming) and includes clean locker rooms and showers, though patrons should bring their own towels. A grassy, shaded area is available for non-swimmers to enjoy the views. While the pool experience is consistently five-star, the community shower facilities, which offer short bursts of water that take time to warm up, are noted as less comfortable for campers seeking a full wash and are better suited for a quick rinse after a swim. Overall, it's highlighted as a friendly, beautiful, and more affordable alternative to private spas.

First time here for an evening lap swim! What an amazing experience to be able to swim outdoors, especially with my adult son...in this kind of environment... wowzers !! Only 6 bucks to swim, showers, and a clean locker room awaits you afterwards. Bring your own towel. The water feels amazingly silky, it's extremely clean, and even feels like it has more buoyancy! For those who don't swim(no charge)...they provide a very nice grassy area with shade tarps to lounge and enjoy the incredible view while waiting for those who do swim. If you're a lap swimmer and in the Mammoth Lakes area, I highly recommend the very short drive over to the Whitmore Pool. I swear I cut 5 mins off my previous time 💥😂 a must experience that you won't soon forget!
Whoa, Whitmore is such an amazing to swim in! Not only the fresh water feel of the pool, but the ambiance of being in the middle of the Eastern Sierras can't be beat. They're friendly and the pool is very lightly chlorinated. It's the best!!
As a female camper, I was recommended to this place for $3 showers. It’s 10 minutes outside of Mammoth lakes from the welcome center. It’s a community shower with three showerheads two tall and one short and the shower water only goes on for about 20ish seconds at a time. Takes a little bit to warm up. I was cold and took the fastest shower ever! As a camper, I was not very comfortable at this place and probably won’t go back, but it’s great for swimmers for a quick rinse.
It was an honor and privilege to swim here. BTW if you're camping and not swimming 2k, find somewhere else to shower.
Beautiful place to swim and much more affordable than the private spa in town
