Honestly, I can’t say enough good things about this place. The staff at Surfari Joes went above and beyond to make sure we had an awesome day. Everyone was super friendly! The park itself is super clean and has something for everyone: lazy rivers, enjoyable slides, and a hot tub that’s way better than I expected. Even when the park was busy, the staff kept things moving, and they really made sure everyone was having a great time. Big shoutout to the lifeguards—they were on it, always paying attention, but still laid-back enough that it didn’t feel too strict. Seriously, if you’re looking for a water park that actually cares about its guests, this is the one. We can’t wait to go back!

I don't know where to start, on Sunday at 3 pm I called the hotel and asked if the pool was open and the receptionist answered yes, however I went with 12 people from Detroit to there (friends and family including 2 children) we traveled 3 hours and when we arrived we paid for the rooms and the surprise is that the pool had not been cleaned for days and was not open, also the rooms were dirty DIRTY! We traveled 3 hours for nothing! We ran scared out of that hotel! They do not represent the hotel industry in America

First I want to mention this is my first Google review. I don’t normally complain. Also we were here 8 years ago and none of these things were an issue before. Cons: Very disappointed in the cleanliness of the public bathrooms in the waterpark area. Gross and not regularly cleaned. Even after I mentioned to an employee that they needed attention. Bar by the pool wasn’t open. The bar in the hotel was not attended to. Once I finally got help I took my 1 little bottle of wine to the pool area. Once settled realized it was not only opened but plain water. When I inquired I was refunded the money but it’s pretty unsettling to be served something that was tampered with. I wasn’t as concerned with the money as I was wanting an explanation. Didn’t receive one. The waterpark is small which is fine. We knew that but terrible lighting so when it gets dark out. It becomes harder to see. Lastly, there are only 2 attendees in the park. 1 at the top by the slides and one at desk. No one ensuring there is safety rules being followed or watching the congestion at the end of the slides. My kids thankfully are good swimmers but I witnessed some other kids that definitely were in need of help. Most water parks won’t allow this to happen. At one point the attendant at the top of the slides told my daughter and her friend they could be life guards until the other person showed up because her shift was over and she went down the slide and left. My daughter is only 12 and was left to manage the slides for about 10 minutes. Not ok. The first day the temp in the pool and room was prefect. The 2nd day it was very cold. Hotel room had ants. No apology or anything to make it ok offered. Game room is new and bigger. Super expensive though. Pro: Hotel room was newly renovated. You can see they’re trying to fix it up. Breakfast was ok. Overall we probably won’t be back.

I just want to say that I worked at this establishment for a couple months and I quit since the lack of cleanliness and management. Not to be specific but I worked a shift with a person who couldn’t swim is what I was told.. not sure if that’s been fixed since then also to say the cleaning was never done properly or double checked by the management. it’s practically ran by TEENS! Please if you go watch your little and give them baths when you get home don’t wait.. !
