What are people saying (AI review summary)? Reviews for this water park are mixed. Many visitors found it to be a fun and great place for the entire family, offering a variety of attractions including large slides, shallow areas for small children, and a water playground with a large dumping bucket. The beautiful mountain views and location were frequently praised, and some staff members, particularly at the front desk, were described as kind, helpful, awesome, and friendly. However, numerous negative experiences were reported, including unexpected and early closures of main attractions like slides, pools, and the lazy river, often without compensation such as refunds or re-entry tickets. Visitors also expressed concerns about the high cost, perceived value for money, issues with pool break management (being longer than stated or called early), and instances of rigid rules that were not flexible even when mistakes were acknowledged. One specific lifeguard was also criticized for excessive whistle-blowing.

Unfortunate experience. The pool breaks are stated to last 15 minutes; however, they are longer than 15 minutes. They called both pool breaks that we were there for a few minutes early. They closed the slide 5-10 minutes early prior to the first pool break, and one of their life guards said she accidentally closed the slide 15 minutes early prior to the second pool break that we were there for. Additionally, they refused to open the slide up when they realized their mistake because “they don’t make the rules.” The one positive was that the front desk staff were extremely kind and helpful when we were expressing our concerns. Overall, an extremely disappointing experience.
Spent $117 to get the family in then they closed the main pool with slides and lazy river and the swimming pool at 2 and said it should be open by 5 or 6. After getting the kids something to eat and getting them ready to swim I went to get in the lazy river for the first time and was about 10 feet in and they told everyone to get out. I asked if I could get tickets to come back another day or money back and they said no. It would cost them nothing to give us tickets to come back another day.
It's fun (and spendy) but a little ridiculous when ONE of the lifeguards does nothing but blow her whistle...literally every 2 minutes...its the same one everytime. (Uhleese or something along that line) if she is that miserable she needs to find a new job. Its a bit out of hand.
This place is a joke you literally can drive to rapid and only pay 6 dollars does not matter the age and it’s stupid you can’t even have special rates on your last day of the season it was a joke to build this water park and they made it an indoor one it would be worth it
This water park is a great place for the entire family. The view you get is awesome too. It is right off of the side of the road and has beautiful mountains in the background. The pictures I included don’t do it justice! You can slide down huge slides, stay with your little ones in the small, shallow part, or enjoy the “playground” with small slides and an ENORMOUS bucket that dumps water out every so often. Super fun and a good way to kill some time in the summer. Staff members were awesome and friendly, I am impressed yet again by Spearfish! 10/10!
