What are people saying (AI review summary)? While some members praise the Y for its friendly and helpful staff, welcoming atmosphere, and community involvement, many reviews highlight significant concerns regarding cleanliness, maintenance, and management. Common complaints include the disgusting and rarely cleaned men's locker rooms, saunas, and showers, as well as unsanitary pools. Numerous gym machines are reported to be out of order for extended periods, water dispensers are broken, and general equipment maintenance and disinfection are lacking. Members also express frustration with low water pressure, inconvenient class schedule changes, and rate increases despite these issues. Several reviews suggest a perceived lack of management care, a declining facility, and a focus on daycare programs that limits access for general members and their families, leading some to cancel their memberships.

Tami and Jennifer and the front desk were so helpful for my family. Everyone is so friendly and they are really assisting my child with our goals and making us feel totally welcome!!! It is a pleasure to join such a clean and friendly gym. Very refreshing and I look forward to be apart of all of the things the Y has to offer

Overall this is a very nice YMCA and gym. Cant say enough about the facility, equipment. And community involvement. That is why I hate to write this part of the review. Something has to be done about the men’s locker room, saunas and shower area. It is quite disgusting and rarely gets cleaned. Standing water and the same trash in the dry sauna is there for days. Same piece of gum has been in the black mats in the shower stall for weeks. This means the mats are not removed and cleaned. In public areas I see staff cleaning and members wiping down equipment after each use. But the men locker room is awful!

The lack of management care here is honestly disappointing. Several machines have been out of order for months with no signs of repair or replacement. It’s frustrating to see no one regularly disinfecting equipment either esp in a shared fitness environment. I’ve been a loyal member, but it’s clear this facility is on a steady decline. With Planet Fitness opening nearby, the timing couldn’t be better. If this were my business, I’d never let it fall off like this, it’s very sad.

This review is solely for the gym. I cannot speak for the facility as a whole. The gym has serious problems. They often have low water pressure and put out signs “just use hand sanitizer…” after using the bathroom. There is something , I am not even going to confirm what, smeared on the men’s bathroom wall, that no one has made any effort to clean in over two months. Cardio machines are on old circuits and breakers kick. On more than one occasion a treadmill would stop as I was still running forward. They removed paper towel dispensers and only use generic air blowers which are proven for spreading germs. Two of the four water dispensers have been down for over a year now. Other gym equipment breaks down about average for a typical gym but they don’t have the funds to repair it, so it often sits there for months with a sign on it. Class times have been changed and grouped together, making them inaccessible for many people. On top of this, they decided to raise the rates in June, when we were already thinking about canceling to find a better gym.

This Y caters to the daycare/before & after school programs more than members and their families. My 3 kids and I couldn't ever use the gyms bc the programs used the kids one and obviously adults used the other one. The pools are disgusting and are ran with summer daycare kids. Plus, the big kids room is just a TV. We are very strict on what our kids watch and for how long so we hardly ever worked out bc of that. I also don't love how parents walk into the baby area. Doesn't seem sanitary or safe. We cancelled our membership.
