We had really bad experience here. The weather was perfect but everything was closed. They closed cruse , mermaid, and swimming. .we came at 10:30 am . Now is 2:40 pm , still everything close. It’s sunny and 91 degrees. No refund . We just left and going to beach.
My kids loved it. From a parents perspective, not many places to sit because people throw there towels down to mark the chairs and then leave to not return for hours. Cheap entry fees. Take plenty of drinks and snacks because they don't have many places to get it and where they do, the line is lonnnng. Arrive early because the park fills up early! Really really early. My photos were taken on the way out because they closed the park down due to electrical storm was coming . They closed the mermaid show down 4 minutes in after we stood in line for 40 minutes & sat in the theater for 30 minutes we ended up seeing 1 mermaid (I attached her picture) before the curtain came down but we hung around in the parking lot & ate at a restaurant down the street & never saw a lightning strike or a drop of rain. I understand keeping the staff & customers safe but geeze, who makes the call to close & where was this storm, in Clearwater. The diappointed crying kids leaving the mermaid theater was torturous. With all that being said yes we would return because the water was delightful but if it would have costed more than the $15 bucks I would have been upset.
Our recent visit to Buccaneer Bay was a mixed bag of experiences. Upon arrival, we quickly noticed that seating was minimal. All the available chairs were taken, forcing us to settle in a grass area that was mostly dirt—not the most comfortable option for a day of fun in the sun. The park features two slides, but they were underwhelming at best, lacking the excitement we hoped for. The main attraction seemed to be the swimming area, where we spent some time splashing around. One notable feature was the lazy river, where you can rent tubes for a leisurely float. However, the ride was quite short—about 10 minutes—and you’re not allowed to get off the tube, which felt a bit restrictive. The highlight of the day was the mermaid show, which was interesting in its own right, though perhaps not as captivating as we anticipated. Unfortunately, our experience was marred by an incident in the parking lot. Someone backed into our car, causing some damage, and they didn’t leave any contact information or attempt to take responsibility. This added to our overall disappointment with the trip. In the end, while Buccaneer Bay has potential, the experience didn’t justify the price of admission. We left feeling less than satisfied, and I would suggest considering other options for a fun day out.
It was my birthday and a family gathering and my son reserve two pavilions, which were supposed to seat six people each you were told every one every single one had to be there by 8:30 in the morning and there was no refunds and he had to pay for them online and it was expensive. Finally were let in the rain , Led to our pavilions for 12. People only had eight chairs. I said well where’s the other chairs? He said oh well you can rent more chairs really for $350 and another hundred and some dollars for 12 people to get in. I don’t think I’m gonna rent more chairs .they never opened The slides or for swimming because it was raining they sold more tickets for people to come in. It was raining. They knew they weren’t gonna be opening anything you couldn’t even keep dry in the pavilions. I really was looking forward to this for my birthday. And my one year anniversary for open heart surgery. very disappointed. Of course we knew the weather was no good but we were hoping that it would clear up because we weren’t gonna get a refund and had already been paid for online with no refunds so we all got up , 12 of us came from different directions met there , all at 8:30. Didn’t even get let in until 930 just completely disappointing. I’m so disappointed and actually mad .
