What are people saying (AI review summary)? The Youth and Family Center in Taos is generally well-received for family fun, offering activities like swimming (with a popular slide), skating, and rollerblading. Many visitors appreciate the attentive and friendly staff, and it's a convenient spot for campers needing showers. However, a major point of frustration for several reviewers is the pool's frequent and unannounced closures, often even during posted open hours, leading to wasted trips due to perceived mismanagement and very limited recreational swim times. Additionally, hockey spectators are warned that the arena is not fully enclosed and can be very cold.

DON'T BOTHER. POOL IS CONSTANTLY CLOSED EVEN DURING OPEN HOURS. THEY ARE ONLY OPEN FOR REC SWIM 3 DAYS A WEEK FOR ONLY 2 HOURS AND SO WE PLANNED DAYS AHEAD TO BE THERE BUT THE POOL WAS CLOSED FOR NO REASON. WE DROVE A LONG WAY AND THEY WERE THERE BUT NOPE WE'RE CLOSED BECAUSE WE DON'T FEEL LIKE WORKING I GUESS. IT'S NOT THE FIRST TIME EITHER. DEFUND THIS POOL IT'S A TOTAL WASTE. COMPLETELY USELESS. TERRIBLE MISMANAGEMENT FROM THE TOP
We always visit the Youth and Family Center when in Taos with our kids for many years. This year, we want to shout out the staff (front desk/lifeguards)--they were attentive and friendly. This is a great place to learn/practice to skate in the winter or rec swim at the pool. The slide is super fun and memorable for all ages. Highly recommend this place for some family fun!
This family center is great for this community.if you are visiting for hockey be aware that the arena is not fully closed off. Most of the outside walls are partially if not fully open,so it gets pretty cold for the spectators. See photos. It's not necessarily a bad thing, but something to definitely be aware of.
Great place to grab a shower if camping near Taos. There are specific hours so check with them. Can also go swimming or play roller blades.
Had a wonderful weekend playing at the tournament here the weekend of March 8-10. A very nice facility in a great lil' town. Can't wait to come back next year!
