Specific, exact pool temperatures for the Fort Meigs YMCA are not typically published publicly. However, YMCAs generally maintain their lap and activity pools at comfortable temperatures, often ranging from approximately 80-84°F (27-29°C) for lap swimming, with warmer temperatures for family or therapeutic pools if available.
What are people saying (AI review summary)? The reviews present a mixed but largely negative picture of the facility. Positive aspects noted include a super clean facility, peppy and friendly staff, unique 'fung shui' in the weights room, a nice wet sauna (though dry was out of order), free coffee, and the availability of heated lap and therapy pools. However, significant concerns are raised about poor customer service, with staff described as rude and unhelpful, particularly regarding a vending machine incident. Facilities are heavily criticized for being outdated, in poor condition, and needing major renovations; specific complaints include a shockingly dirty pool with visible debris, an unpleasant saline taste, neglected changing rooms with no doors, a filthy sauna with a broken door, and fitness equipment in dire need of repair. A major separate concern is the sports program, which is deemed poorly led with consistent lack of basic safety oversight, resulting in frequent child injuries, attributed to the Sports Director's inadequate leadership.

Super clean facility, staff was peppy even at 4:45 in the am. Really enjoyed my visit here. Fung shui in the weights room is unique. Wet sauna nice, dry sauna was out of order. Looked hot😂😂 Free coffee.
I dont usually leave reviews. But I needed to share my poor experience and poor customer service. I went to play a nice round of basketball on a weird floor with a friend of mine. Had a very nice experience with the facility, except the gym floor weird. Anyways we had wrapped playing and I had went to go purchase a beverage from the vending machine. Unknowing that the machine was broke with no sign on it. And no clear indications something was wrong. The vending machine dID not work and unfortunately ate my money. NOT MY COMPLAINT. My complaint is when I went to go tell the 3 desk people, who were all sitting on their phones not doing anything. I politely say that if there was anything they could do about the vending machine. They said “it’s not our problem, you have to scan the QR code.” In the rudest manner. So I asked if they had anyone coming in to fix it or if they could put a sign on it or something. They reiterated that it wasn’t there problem and that it was mine. Understandable that you can’t do anything, but your staff is incredibly rude in such a small and pointless interaction and I hope my review affects something. RUDE RUDE RUDE
I had a highly disappointing experience at this YMCA. The facilities are outdated and in poor condition. The pool was shockingly dirty, with visible debris like bandage strips at the bottom, and the water had an unpleasant saline taste—unlike any pool I've ever used. The changing rooms are equally neglected, with no doors and a sauna that’s filthy and has a door barely hanging on. While the reception area appears decent, the fitness equipment and building are in dire need of repair, feeling as though they haven’t been updated in decades. The staff couldn’t provide any information about the facility’s condition or age. Overall, this place urgently needs major renovations and better maintenance.
Heated lap pool and therapy pool are available most every day. Staff is friendly and helpful. Really enjoy my time here. You can, too.
One star rating is specifically for the sports program! If your child is interested in YMCA sports, I strongly recommend choosing a different branch. The sports program here is poorly led, and the consistent lack of basic safety oversight has resulted in children getting injured far too often. The issue stems from the Sports Director, Colin, whose leadership has been disappointing at best. His inability to enforce even the most fundamental safety measures raises serious concerns about his qualifications for the role. While he doesn’t oversee the entire facility, his mismanagement of the sports program undermines the YMCA’s values and puts young participants at risk. Until there is a change in leadership, this program is unlikely to improve — and families should look elsewhere.
