What are people saying (AI review summary)? The Bonner Springs YMCA is highly praised as a well-managed, remarkably clean facility with friendly and helpful staff and instructors. Members appreciate the variety of programs and classes, including a well-regarded swim program for both adults (lap and warm pools) and children, with excellent instructors. The facility's layout, particularly the ground floor with cardio and free weights encircled by a walking track, is also a positive highlight. While the weight room is well-maintained, one area noted for improvement is the cramped spacing between benches and other equipment, which can make navigation challenging.

A wonderful, well-managed facility staffed by friendly, helpful people. I joined the YMCA in Houston and took advantage of the policy that allows me to use YMCAs nationwide. When I was visiting my parents in the Kansas City suburbs, I noticed the closest Y was in Bonner Springs. I went to the facility almost every day during my two-week visit to swim and lift weights. The lap pool was never crowded and staffed by lifeguards who played cool alt rock music. There is also a “warm pool” for swimming lessons and water aerobics. I took my elderly father there, and he had a great time doing his water aerobics routine. He wants to join the Y now. The weight room was well maintained, and I had all the equipment I needed. The locker room and showers were clean. This is one of the best YMCAs I’ve ever visited.
The Bonner Springs Y is a great place to go work out. Do cardio swim whatever that you’re looking to do it has it. It is remarkably clean well lit plenty of mirrors. The only thing that I could see as an area of opportunity is to expand the spacing in between the benchesincline benches and other pieces that are just way too close together. It’s like working your way through a maze it’s just way way too close, but like I said this is an area of. Incline benches and other pieces that are just way too close together. It’s like working your way through a maze it’s just way way too close but like I said, this is a area of improvement that could be done either by converting a room from aerobic to freeway use or Expansion in the future. This would be an area that would be well needed, and improvement.
Great staff and instructors also love the variety of programs/classes offered here
I love the layout of the Bonner Springs YMCA with the free weights and cardio equipment encircled by a walking track on the ground floor. The layout helps me to keep my heart rate balanced while walking laps between each lifting set. Overall, this gym is well maintained and the equipment is perfect for accomplishing my daily gym routine.
We primarily use our membership for the kids classes, particularly swimming. We love the swim program here. The instructors are great and are wonderful with the kids. I am so happy with the progress my kids have made since starting here. Sabrah runs a terrific program!
