About

Public swimming pool with a kiddie area, slides, lifeguards and diving boards.

As an outdoor municipal pool, Ambuc Pool's water temperature is generally ambient and varies with the weather conditions during its operating season. Specific heated or maintained temperatures are not typically advertised.

What are people saying (AI review summary)? The public pool receives mixed reviews, highlighted by its enduring appeal as one of the few local swimming options for children, who often enjoy the slides and overall experience. However, several significant concerns detract from the visitor experience. A recurring complaint is the behavior of some teenage lifeguards, who are described as rude, cruel, and disrespectful towards children, though some praise lifeguards for doing their best under difficult circumstances. Another major issue is the number of parents who drop off their children, leaving lifeguards to manage their behavior and intervene in drama, thus overextending their roles beyond safety supervision. Physical aspects of the pool also draw criticism, including chipped paint on the pool floor causing discomfort and safety concerns, and unusually warm water. While some reviews note ample seating and a good kiddie pool, others mention it being crowded. Despite prompt action from management on reported issues, these collective concerns lead many reviewers to state they will not be returning.

It's still the same pool from when I was a kid, probably the same diving board as well, lol,I tried to drink from the same water fountain but it didn't work, I asked if they had any water to drink, the life guard said they sell bottles for 2$,I passed. It's one of the few public places to swim in Ponca City, they also have a cool slide that the kids loved, and that's what matters, they always enjoy themselves and that makes me 😊.

Pool is great, manager is great! But the snarky a## teenage kids that work as lifeguards are RUDE to the kids. I can understand if the kids aren't listening and you're getting frustrated, but no they're just plain CRUEL with the way they speak to the kids. This young girl today rolled her eyes and screamed at my 10 year old daughter when she made an honest mistake and went down the slide before it was her turn, my daughter sincerely apologized and she was scolded like she's been a terror the entire time and like it was her child to SCREAM at and roll her eyes at in the first place. The manager took care of it quickly, but with the attitudes of not only that young woman, but the rude young teenage boys that work there, we probably will not be going back. It's sad to see such lack of respect or care for children these days. We wonder why the world has turned into such a hateful place!

Tons of seating. Not overly crowded. The kiddie pool is a good size. They have plenty of lifeguards available. The water however is a lot warmer than it should be. There wasn't a lot of people in the pool to begin with. They were distributed throughout the pool, and yet the water was warm. Even more of a concern was all of the paint from the bottom of the floor is chipped. It starts off uncomfortable, but when you get to bigger areas that are chipping, it hurts. The chipping paint was the biggest concern. I don't see another visit happening.

Used to be our favorite pool to swim at but parents like to drop their kids off leaving the lifeguards to keep them in line. It's sad to see how many lazy parents there are that don't enjoy to see their children have a good time and just leave them to fend for themselves. We won't return! We will just swim at home!

So crowded, but a GREAT pool. Mommas, why you dropping off your bratty kids there alone? Lifeguards don't wanna be babysitting your bratty kids. The last couple of times I have gone, some pre-teen kids are starting drama and getting kicked out cause they are starting drama. Don't drop your kids off. Go keep your kids in line and make this a GREAT pool. Lifeguards cannot babysit and do their job. Go take care of your kids. Shout out Lifeguards. I see you. Doing great!
