What are people saying (AI review summary)? This park is highly praised as a great district park, offering a variety of children's activities such as tennis, basketball, and swim team, and is also good for biking. The pool is generally well-liked for its clean water, which is not too cold, and ample lanes for lap swimming, though it can get crowded. During COVID-19, the pool operates with limited weekday hours and 45-minute swimming slots. Parking is usually easy. However, there are significant facility issues: some park rest facilities have been locked for repair for years, pool locker rooms are either closed or lack hot water (only cold deck showers are available), and there are concerns about vagrants frequently roaming the park despite its proximity to law enforcement.
Reviews
Rest facilities have been locked for repair now for about three years. Despite the close t proximity to a local law enforcement station, vagrants still frequently roam the park amongst young children with their families.
I grew up in Kailua and learned to swim here. I like this pool because the water isn’t ice cold and there are so many lanes to swim laps in. The locker rooms have a big changing area with indoor showers…no hot water tho 🥶
Great district park! My children have had tennis lessons, basketball practice, and swim team practices here for years and we always enjoy riding our bikes to this park. The bathrooms are nicer inside the gymnasium (actually have soap); I highly recommend bringing a fold out chair if you're staying to watch any practices here so you can move to a nice shady spot under one of the many trees around the park.
Great pool, easy to swim parking was easy it does get crowded. I will be back
This pool is open m-f for limited hours during covid. You can come at the top of each hour and swim in a 45 min slot. but I’m super happy I can swim for 45 min in a pool if the ocean is rough. Most all the guards are friendly. The water is nice and clean. Some people say it’s cold but by the time you warm up it’s great. Locker rooms are closed. You can shower on deck in the cold water shower (a must before entering)
