Large, indoor pool for swim meets, classes and recreational use.
While specific daily temperatures for the VISD Aquatic Center's pools are not consistently published online, competitive aquatic facilities of this nature typically maintain their pools within a temperature range suitable for training and meets, generally between 78-82 degrees Fahrenheit (approximately 25-28 degrees Celsius) to meet professional swimming standards.
What are people saying (AI review summary)? Reviews provide a mixed perspective on various facilities. The VISD Aquatic Center is highly praised for its attentive, patient staff, particularly for children's swim lessons, ensuring a very positive experience. The Crain ISD Fine Arts Center also received positive remarks for its cleanliness and decoration during a Christmas concert. However, multiple aquatic centers are criticized severely. Recurring negative feedback includes extreme lack of cleanliness, with pools described as 'disgusting' and restrooms as 'gross.' Other significant complaints involve rude staff, inadequate or restrictive viewing areas for parents during events, lack of seating at swim meets, poor parking, and strict policies against outside food while only offering unhealthy options internally. Concerns were also raised regarding a perceived lack of hygiene and mask-wearing at events.

The VISD Aquatic Center has been great for my granddaughter’s swim lessons. The staff is attentive, patient, and really knows how to work with kids. Cynthia, in particular, is wonderful—she always greets the kids with a smile and gives lots of encouragement. We’ve had a very positive experience here!
The Crain ISD Christmas Concert was wonderful. The Fine Arts Center clean and decorated lovely displaying art created by some very talented kids.
That place is the most discusting pool i have ever been to. I dont think they have ever once had that pool cleaned nor have they ever cleaned any part of the inside at all. U can see the dirt just all along the bottom of the pool it is so nasty. The restrooms are so gross u can see the felth all on the walls the floor. It is the nastiest place ive ever been in my life. Just walking into that pool area u feel like ur gonna catch staff from just breathing in the air. I would never ever go back to that pool. Not even if they blasted that whole pool and area with s scolding hot water and straight bleach. They shld be ashamed of how discusting that pool is.
The staff was rude, there is no place to watch your child swim, as they will not allow you to stand around the pool you must be seated on the bleachers. So if you are on the far end of the pool you are out of luck. I paid $10 to watch my child swim and was harassed by both the audience and the staff for just cheering on my kid. Very disappointed. I think this is a simple fix, just have an area for the parents of the kiddos in the water and everyone else will be fine on the bleachers.
The worst aquatic center for meets I have ever been to. No places to sit, everyone is coughing around not wearing masks. True Covid heaven. No parking fir so many people whatsoever, you can't leave your spot so you can take lunch break or you will loose it. But food wise they are not allowing outside food so they can sell their stuff with zero healthy options for athletes, a bunch of candy, pizza and Chick file deep fried sandwiches. Horrible, absolutely horrible place. Never again. If you bring something they will call security on you 😅 Minus 5 stars
