The Whitley Y is my favorite of all the Greater FW YMCA's. It has a small town vibe. Very friendly and personable. People know each other, and the staff certainly knows the members. I feel taken care of there. Jessica, Danielle, Demi, and the rest of the staff do a great job always greeting me and other members by name. Abby has built up a great team through a culture of support and welcoming. It's not just a gym, it's a place to go for community, and going to the Whitley Y is my favorite part of the day.
I was greeted by Bridget at the front desk with a smile and a quick check-in🇺🇸🇺🇸 Had a great workout and out the door I went membership satisfaction at its best🇺🇸🇺🇸

It's a very nice and laid back YMCA. I enjoy my membership and there is always room in the gym to work out.
Overall, I believe it is a great place for families to work out and get in shape. While the accommodations are smaller than other YMCAs, the quality and care is still high. From the equipment to the cleanliness, they do a great job! The staff is always friendly and kind whenever I visit. I enjoy powerlifting and appreciate that a lot of the free weight equipment is geared towards more serious lifting, without alienating anyone. However, there is one issue that keeps me from giving this place a perfect 5/5 star rating. On numerous occasions, I have encountered a group of people who are loud, unwelcoming, and borderline confrontational. While I understand that being mildly verbal while working out is normal, such as cheering others on or grunting under heavy weight. With this group it's shouting at others, screaming while lifiting, and staring down other guests on numerous occasions. Creating an unwelcoming space goes against most 'gym cultures' and the YMCA Code of Conduct. To the staff who has received several complaints about this in the past, please address this issue. It could be preventing people who would like to work out at your YMCA from doing so. To all looking to go to this YMCA, I highly recommend it with the except of how some of the members handle themselves.
