What are people saying (AI review summary)? The Rothschild Schofield Aquatic Center is generally perceived as being designed for young families, particularly children aged 3-10, offering slides and a small water playground. While one review praises it as a fun place with much to do, the overwhelming majority highlight significant issues. Primary complaints revolve around overly strict and aggressive lifeguard behavior, with numerous reports of staff yelling at children and parents for minor infractions, creating a stressful and unenjoyable atmosphere. Visitors describe constant rule enforcement, even for holding a child in the water, splashing, or walking too fast. Other common criticisms include very cold water in the splash pad, a lack of deep water or dedicated swimming areas for older children, expensive and low-quality concessions, and confusing pass structures. Many patrons report leaving early due to the negative experience and being denied refunds, leading to a general sentiment that the facility is not worth the visit due to constant yelling and arbitrary rules.
Reviews
The Rothschild Schofield Aquatic Center is tailor made for young family fun. Slide, small water playground, and other elements are perfect for 3-10 year olds. The splash pad has cool elements, but also very cool water, at least on the day we went, which kept the kids away. The climbing wall might be a bit too hard for kids. There isn’t really a section for just actual swimming, so if that’s what you’re here for, or if older kids want to go deep, there really isn’t anything here for that. And the various season passes are fairly confusing (the person I spoke with on the phone couldn’t answer my question about the difference between the online ad for a 20 punch pass and the season pass). But young families will love going here! Can’t speak for the concessions because we didn’t buy anything.
Went for the first time ever today with my 3 children. From the first 5 minutes of being there until the time we left all we did was get yelled at it. It was not fun at all. We were walking on egg shells on what our next “offense “ would be. Literally all you can do is float/swim peacefully by yourself and cannot touch anyone. The last straw for me, as a mother, was getting yelled at for holding my own child in the water. He’s 6. We were just standing there with his arms around me and me holding him. We left immediately after that incident. I will not be told I cannot peacefully hold my own child. They refused to refund me for us only being able to enjoy an hour and half, when we had planned an all day outing. It was so miserable trying to enjoy the pool with the incessant yelling at everybody. Also the splash pad water is ice cold. Food is super expensive. It’s a nice pool. But not worth the stress of the constant yelling at everyone.
This place is a JOKE. The whole time we were by the little slide one life guard would not stop hoovering over my daughter she went under the slide one time and the chick yelled at her for going under there. THEN BLOCK IT OFF instead of yelling at a 3 yr old. We had been there for 2 hours at the point and 2 life guards were staring at us after they had a break and we all went in the pool and then one came over by us and said my 1.5 year olds life jacket/vest wasn’t appropriate we had been there for TWO hours and no one said a thing about it. As there’s little kids her age running around with no life jacket. There’s a reason no one goes there and it’s always saying every year “they are going to shut down”, I’ll stick to the Weston pool where we have never had an issue and never had SO SO much hoovering. Don’t waste your time cause you won’t even be able to enjoy yourself.
So many things to see and do you can't see it all in 3 days. Best place for kids to have fun
It’s not a fun place. Maybe it use to be but since it recently opened I I went everyday so far and I stopped going because it’s all rules. You can’t do anything literally. The lifeguards yell at any child walking 1 inch too fast, The food is expensive they want u to pay $8 for a 3 dollar store pizza that’s smaller than my hand that they reheat in a microwave, You can’t splash too much, You can’t play ball in the pool, Going down the slide the lifeguards have poor communication on when to go down. The only thing u can literally do without getting into trouble is swim around in shallow water. Even the activities like rock climbing they expect people to know where to wait and when to go in and they excessively yell at kids who are already confused embarrassing them.
