What are people saying (AI review summary)? Reviews indicate a general disappointment with several activities and facilities. Archery was frequently criticized for poor equipment quality (broken arrows, limited good bows), lack of safety gear, and inadequate instruction, with some finding it overpriced for shared resources. Axe throwing was deemed fun but unfairly priced for larger groups, who paid significantly more to share the same limited equipment and space as smaller groups. Other complaints included restricted access to amenities (member-only pools/restaurants), issues with basic facilities (only porta-potties, no accessible bathrooms, insufficient umbrellas, broken heaters, bouncy house with water), and unreliable shuttle service. While some aspects like playgrounds and a lazy river were enjoyed by younger children, the overall experience was often described as smaller and more crowded than depicted, and less engaging for older kids (10+).

The archery was not good. Most of the arrows were broken. After much searching, they were only able to find 1 good bow. Instead they offered our group of three adults, 2 what looked like kids bows. No wrist/arm guards. There was also very little instruction. The “instructor” seemed to know less about archery than me and I’ve only done it twice in my life. It was just a field with targets, many broken arrows and 1 good bow. Not what I’d expect of an activity at a resort.
Regarding archery: We had fun but a bit pricey! For about 45 min it’s $25 per adult plus child fee. They did let us go for an hour since there was no one in line and almost closing time. You share one target and one bucket of arrows so you’re not getting as many rounds. Might as well pay and schedule for one person at that point. That’s what I’d recommend. The standing wood planks where you stand to shoot at the target are loose, please be mindful of possible trip and fall. The heater stand was broken next to us and it was pretty cold, dress extra warm, there was high winds and some snow in April! I wore my snowboarding jacket with hat and still froze 🥶
It was disappointing from what we had heard. When we booked at Suncadia we thought we'd have access to the pool at Nelsons Farm but found out when we arrived that you have to be a member. The only restaurant at the farm is member only too. The playground is nice and the kids liked it. You could buy a $10 pass for a bouncy house but it was only one and had a lot of water inside so the kids didn't want to go in and get soaked. They have free plastic axe throwing, archery with foam arrows, and corn hole for free. You can pay extra for real archery and axe throwing and BB guns. The only restrooms are porta potties. The lodge shuttle dropped us off and then picked us up an hour late so we felt trapped there and wished we hadn't gone or at least driven so we could leave when we wanted.
No accessible bathrooms. Not enough umbrellas. Smaller in reality than the photos. Its a good destination if you have smaller kids. Music. Food. Lazy river. But If your kids are 10+ old then it’s not as fun. Crowded and small. The fitness center pools are more fun.
Do not sign up for axe throwing if you have a larger group! Completely unfair pricing for groups with more people. Axe throwing was $30 per person for 45 minutes. For that price, you'd think each person would have their own axe and target, get more than 45 minutes, or some included beers/drinks. We showed up with a group of 6 people (and paid $180 + tax) for 45 minutes of throwing two axes in a single stall (2 targets). After taking turns between all 6 of us over the course of the 45 minutes, we were promptly told to turn in the axes. Meanwhile, the stall next to us has only two people and paid $60 for the same two axes and stall just for the two of them all 45 minutes long. Not sure we received anything for the additional $120 + tax. It was fun, but totally not worth the price paid for a larger group.
