Absolutely LOVE Rock River Rapids in Derby. We go after 5pm when it’s $5 entry from 5pm-close(7pm) it’s plenty of time to enjoy all the pool /water park has to offer . We drove 1hr one way 2 days in a row to enjoy the pool we loved it so much.
After a long hot weekend full of other events in Wichita, my family decided to stop at Rock River Rapids before making the trip home and we were not disappointed. The park is very well run, barely any wait for any of the slides or lazy river (we went on Monday). We were also able to find chairs under the umbrellas fairly easily. My kids had a great time and it was difficult to get them to get out of the water (teens). I loved that they had sprinklers all around to help keep feet from being burned as you walk from one pool to another. The lifeguards are very well trained as well as security. I only saw one possible incident and it was handled very quickly and without fuss. Overall, a great park to visit. I wish I lived closer because I'd be there every day!
Really super fun!! Nice place, great pricing-- bring a lock for the lockers if you have one or you can buy one if you need for like $6. Lazy river is really nice. Great areas for everyone to play depending on what they want.
Overall it was a nice experience! Compared to the YMCA the kids pool was a lot better my toddlers were there for most of the time, but it's a little bit bigger than at the YMCA so it's hard to keep track of them... The lazy River looked amazing and we wanted to try it but we couldn't because they needed two parents for two kids at the YMCA you can put two kids in the inner tubes and walk them down the lanes or be in the tube with them. They do have food there which is a plus. The deep end and the kid pool both have a basketball goal. Their slides are a lot better than the YMCA! Even for the kid area. I definitely recommend this place! But if you have multiple kids and you're only a single parent I definitely go to the YMCA if you want to ride on the lazy river! They have life jackets too which is a plus. $10 to get in isnt bad and ticket prices are cheaper right now since the season is almost over!!
Little bit confused why I wasn’t allowed to go down a slide with my permanent necklace on, but multiple life guards had on necklaces and many earrings. I think the standard should be the same for guests and lifeguards if the rule is no jewelry. Doesn’t make much sense, especially since I was allowed to go down two different slides with no problem.
