Pools, waterslides, a lazy river, plus a hot tub at this water park for families, with lifeguards on hand.
While specific numerical temperatures are not consistently published, the pools at Currents Waterpark are generally heated to ensure comfortable swimming conditions for guests throughout the operating season.
What are people saying (AI review summary)? Reviews for the water park, often identified with Embassy Suites and Kingston, are mixed. Positive feedback highlights the friendly staff, the presence of multiple pools, slides, and generally well-maintained, clean facilities where children have fun. However, many guests, especially long-time visitors, express significant disappointment, noting that it's more of an elaborate hotel pool area with a few slides rather than a true water park. Common complaints include insufficient staffing leading to long waits for food, drinks, and towels, as well as a lack of monitoring for reserved pool chairs. The hot tub is frequently described as lukewarm, unclean, and often used by children despite the presence of dedicated kids' pools, leading to calls for adults-only sections. Guests also criticize the high prices for rentals, cabanas, and food, citing a decline in quality, family-friendliness, and the absence of previously offered amenities like live music, ultimately feeling that the value has diminished over the years.

My first ever stay in Myrtle Beach was more than an experience. The whole staff at current waterpark made my time more than memorable ,with over three pools to choose from dry wet, sauna hot tub, and a huge slide for the family.. I didn’t want to leave, such an awesome time . SEE for yourself 🚨
We have stayed at Kingston every year for over 30 years. The water park has always been one of our favorite things and the reason we were willing to pay hefty prices for the rentals. The past few years they have tried to turn the kiddie area into a fancy, expensive, adult resort and that’s not why parents choose to stay here. They do not have enough employees to staff all the amenities they advertise. Waits are forever on food, drinks, towels…. No live music like there has been in previous years. Completely changed their menu from things kids will eat at reasonable prices to outrageously priced items that aren’t even any good. Kingston, we are disappointed. You had a good thing going for many, many years and have destroyed it year by year. My advice to future guest, don’t pay thousands of dollars for amenities you won’t receive.
This is part of the Embassy suites, not much of a waterpark really, but it is a great area for those using the hotel. You don’t buy tickets to go in here. They finished it a couple of years ago so it’s still new feeling and well taken care of. People constantly leave towels on the food chairs and no staff monitors them. I guess get there as early as you can and drop those towels.
Stayed at the Embassy for a conference and then extended vacation. The currents water park needs some help! The hot tub should be ADULTS only (instead it was a kids splash zone 24/7) it was also not hot (luke warm bath water) and needed cleaning very badly. They could benefit from having a section of the large main pool adults only as well since they have two pools for kids only. We spent $400 on a private cabana that was not stocked as it should be or very clean. We ordered extras like their cookie plate for $18 and had to ask 3 for this to be delivered. I’ve included a picture of said cookies we charged for and they should be ashamed. Not a luxury experience by far.
Very nice pool and kid play area and 2 slides. Hardly a water park, my small town public pool has more slides than this water park, lol. It was very nice , clean, well maintained, and the kids had a blast, but water park it is not.
