Affordable place to beat the heat. Younger kids must pass a a swim test to use the slide & swim in the deep area. The lifeguards are accommodating & don’t seem to mind taking the time to facilitate the tests. There is a break at the last 10 minutes of every hour where everyone must exit the pool. Make sure you have a spot to sit or a towel to stand on, the ground gets really hot! There are not many tables but they do have benches & folding chairs first come first serve. The public pools are free to YMCA members otherwise $1/kids $3/adults

The pool itself is fine. The ladies bathroom was horrific. One commode was out of order, the other was stopped up, and the odor was rancid. There was no attempt to rectify the situation the entire 3 hours I was there. I expect a certain standard of cleanliness considering the pool is ran by the YMCA. On a plus note, they now have several chase lounges on the deck.

Been swimming here for years! Love it. Used to drive from Hampstead, now I drive from Supply. Worth every penny. Clean pool, relaxing atmosphere.

My family and I went to the Legion Stadium pool while on vacation at Kure Beach last month. We found the life guards friendly and courteous, and the pool and grounds were nice and clean. Even the people who were total strangers to us were real nice, and full of southern hospitality. Our son is in a wheel chair, and we enjoyed the handicap accessibility of the pool. The Legion Stadium complex is definitely an asset to it's community.
