What are people saying (AI review summary)? The La Crosse community pool holds nostalgic value for long-time patrons, with some recalling fond memories from decades past. It underwent significant renovations, reopening in August 2019 with a completely updated bathhouse and new pool, now featuring multiple swimming lanes, a waterslide, diving board, and accessible entry. While generally seen as a cute, simple, and classic local spot ideal for families and children, a notable point of contention is the recent policy of private weekend rentals, which close the pool to the public without clear notice, leading to disappointment. One review also mentioned concerns about cleanliness and staff performance.

Back in the 70's it cost a dime for admission. Spent my summers there. Good memories!!!!
The pool is what it is—a cute local community pool. Certainly there are fancier pools in the La Crosse region, but if you’re in the neighborhood it’s great for kids and family’s to take a quick walk for a dip! Had some renovations done a few years ago so much of the pool area is updated (not so sure about the locker rooms…). Certainly the most quaint pool in town, but worth a visit if you want somewhere simple and classic!
So I guess now u can rent the pools out on weekends and nobody else can enter.. funny how it's not posted on any website and must be nice if u have money to do this.. this also isn't just one it's all pools in Lax where closed for people who rented them. Kid is very disappointed and when we don't have air conditioning it's a easy way to cool down and now we where turned away.. thanks lax
The historic La Crosse municipal pool is back as of 8/2/19 with a completely renovated bath house and a totally new pool to meet today's swimming needs for people of all ages and abilities. 8 swimming lanes, water slide, diving board, an underwater sitting bench, wheelchair ramp, stair entry, lots of 3-ft and deeper area for swimming, and there are a few amenities (shade structures, loungers, veterans memorial plaza, artwork) still to be added this fall and spring and planned for the reveal at a dedication around Memorial Day in 2020.
Quite a mid pool overall. I used to attend this space in my youth but sadly the facilities have gone down the drain. Guards failed to clean up the abundance of hair due to their constant shedding. That stuff is gross guys please shave! Terrible experience! P.S they don’t use soap
