Kid-friendly YMCA complex housing a pool and a fitness center, plus offering childcare, camps, and classes.
Specific pool temperatures for the YMCA of the Seacoast are not consistently published online, as they can vary based on the specific pool (e.g., lap pool vs. warm water pool for therapeutic use) and program. Typically, lap pools are maintained at cooler temperatures (e.g., low 80s Fahrenheit) for exercise, while instructional or warm water pools are kept warmer (e.g., mid-to-high 80s Fahrenheit) for comfort during lessons or therapy.
What are people saying (AI review summary)? The reviews for this YMCA facility are largely negative, primarily citing severe issues with cleanliness and maintenance across the gym, locker rooms, changing areas, and equipment, including reports of unsanitary conditions and even feces in the pool. The pool water is frequently described as excessively cold, particularly for children's classes, leading to discomfort and illness. Other significant concerns include unhelpful or moody staff interactions, lifeguards chastising children, and poor communication with management regarding program issues. A particularly contentious point was a 'hostile' 30-day cancellation policy. While a few reviewers noted some friendly staff and one positive experience with a clean, well-tempered pool, the overwhelming consensus suggests the facility is outdated, poorly maintained, and in urgent need of a comprehensive overhaul.

Was not please with rotation of unpleasant life guards that were constantly chastising children during free swim for nonsafety issues, and during cancelation process found out that their is a hostile 30 cancelation requirement that ends up requiring me to pay an extra month for non use. There's a financial reason I am not in a bigger nicer gym! I am a broke parent that can no longer afford things. I thought the YMCA was a charitable foundation not a corporate financial succubus. I will not be considering this institution again in the future for a place of community support.
I've been a member here for a while and really wanted to love this place, but unfortunately it’s in serious need of attention. The gym itself is very dirty—cleaning seems minimal if it happens at all—and the locker rooms are extremely outdated and often just as unclean. Trash cans are filthy, the water fountain station is moldy, and the exercise equipment is dusty. I also have to agree with another reviewer about the front desk staff; some are friendly, but many come across as moody or disinterested. I hope management takes these concerns seriously because this facility has great potential if it were better cared for.
We joined this YMCA as it is more local and we figured it would be fun given the fact that we went to my friends YMCA down in North Andover, Massachusetts my Lord we were honestly mortified at the condition of this YMCA. The locker rooms were filthy the pool I’m pretty sure had kids feces in it And the water was freezing cold. My child was miserable the entire time and just kept begging that we go back to the friends YMCA, which thankfully as long as we use this membership Majority of the time we can and we will only be utilizing this YMCA for working out, Absolutely unacceptable. The staff is friendly as far as I am concerned, but this is YMCA is honestly atrocious for the pool aspect My husband grew up being a member, his whole entire life with his mom very active in volunteering This YMCA needs massive overhaul And those of you who see the pictures online just know it’s Nothing like the pictures
My girlfriend works here and says it's a great place to work. nice management and kind employees. I've been a few times. the pool is very clean and really nice, always a pretty good temperature! it's a little out of the way for me but not too far so it's worth the trip
I would not recommend their toddler swim classes to anyone. The water is waaaay too cold for a toddler to stay comfortably in for 25-30 minutes. My kid has been sick for a month. We missed most of the classes due to that and when we called and requested to speak to the program manager or at least the instructor they were always unable. They never returned our calls either. The couple of times when we actually were present, we asked the life guards to please measure the water temperature. With attitude one of them threw a thermometer in the water for 5 seconds took it out gave us a look and walked away. We were told the water was 82F. It felt no more than in the upper 70s. My kids lips were turning blue by the end of the class. The changing room and shower were not very sanitary either. Will not recommend. Absolute waste of money and the saddest part is that it made my child hate those classes because he just associated them with being cold!
