Recreation center featuring a pool with a slide and a kiddie area, as well as lap lanes.
The Olympic-sized competition pool at Cypress Aquatic Center is heated for comfortable year-round use. While specific daily temperatures are not always publicly listed, such pools are generally maintained within a range of 80-82 degrees Fahrenheit (26.7-27.8 degrees Celsius) for optimal swimming conditions. Temperatures for the family fun pool may vary.
What are people saying (AI review summary)? The Cypress Aquatic Center receives mixed reviews. Many visitors praise the pool itself for being very clean, well-maintained, heated for winter swimming, and a great facility for lap swimming and family fun with a kids' splash area and waterslide. Staff (manager, lifeguards) are often described as incredibly helpful and friendly, contributing to a welcoming atmosphere. However, significant negative feedback highlights issues such as inconsistent staff demeanor, with some experiences of unfriendliness and rudeness. There are also severe concerns regarding the facility's website, which is often not updated with accurate operating hours (e.g., due to summer camps), leading to frustration for visitors. Most critically, several reviews report extremely poor restroom conditions, including lack of cleanliness (feces on toilets) and the presence of unauthorized individuals. A strict ID policy for entry, described as rigid and enforced rudely, has also been a point of contention, especially when contrasted with the perceived lack of oversight in the restrooms.

The pool was clean, well-maintained, and a perfect spot to relax. The facilities were spotless, and everything felt safe and welcoming. The staff were incredibly friendly and made the experience even better. A great place to cool off and enjoy some downtime in Daytona!
I went to the Cypress Aquatic Center here in Daytona Beach to swim my laps today. I had been looking for a new outdoor pool to do my swimming training in, without having to sign up for a typical restrictive membership and all the blah blah blah that goes with it, at the other ‘commercial’ facilities. I was surprised to find this great facility, and also the other Daytona Beach municipal pool, which is called the Campbell Aquatic Center, which also looked good, but has limited days that it’s open. This Cypress pool turned out to be just perfect for me, it’s super clean, I was the only one there at 10AM when they open, and the manager and lifeguards were incredibly helpful and friendly. I immediately felt right at home, and that felt great. As you can see from the photos, they also have a super kids splash / swimming area, and they can turn on the waterslide whenever kids (or us retirees, when we want to act like kids again 😀), want to take a spin down it. (Maybe a great place for a kids party?) On the side of the pool, they have two nice larger covered seating areas with picnic tables that make it very comfortable to relax out of the sun, before or after your swim, if you choose to do that. The male & female change rooms don’t have showers, but there are two outdoor showers for use before or after your swim, plus one single private ‘family’ change room which does have a single shower in it, complete with seating bench. There’s also a baby changing table in there. Swim teams do use the pool between 2PM & around 5PM as I understand, but they still leave two lap lanes open for public use even then. If you’re looking for a nice outdoor pool to swim in, I would encourage you to check out the Cyprus Aquatic Center. I’m not sure how busy it is in the afternoons or on the weekends, but between 10AM and noon weekdays, it appears very under-utilized, and so offers tons of opportunity for swimmers or floaters to spend time there enjoying the pools. Oh, and just in case you were wondering - yes, it’s even heated for winter swimming, how cool is that?!
Every time I bring my family in here, they’re not friendly and always just act so nasty to us.
Keep website updated! I showed up at 10 AM with all four of my grandchildren and all of our glory our drinks and snacks and everything at the pool only to be turned away to say they don’t open till 12 because of summer camp, fix the website and let people know that it doesn’t open up until 12 noon!!!!! It’s hot and inconvenient to tell four little one they have to wait two more hours! KEEP WEBSITE UPDATED FOR THE PUBLIC PLEASE‼️This disabled Grandma will appreciate it!
A group of 11 of us are from out of town. Went to take our 5 kids to swim here and was told we all had to have our ID’s. Only one of the 6 adults did not have theirs but the receptionist still would not make an exception and was very rude. Went to use their bathrooms before we left to find another pool and there was feces on all of the toilets and had several homeless shacking it up in there. DO NOT recommend even trying to take your family here. It’s crazy we had to have our ID’s but the homeless were allowed to hang out in the restrooms no problem.
