What are people saying (AI review summary)? The new YMCA in Chatham Park, Pittsboro, NC is generally praised as a beautiful, modern, and well-equipped facility featuring an outdoor pool, numerous sports courts/fields, and a high-end fitness center with a wide range of cardio, weight training machines (including Life Fitness and Hammer Strength), and daily classes. Many appreciate its family-friendly concept. However, there are some criticisms: one family with a membership was denied pool entry, leading to frustration. Suggestions for improvement include adding a sauna or steam room. The men's locker room design also received specific negative feedback for its lack of benches, absence of urinals, poor placement of toilet stalls, and tiny, unadjustable showers with an unusual changing space.

Beautiful new YMCA in the growing Chatham Park area of Pittsboro, NC. Outdoor pool, tons of fields and sports courts. Plenty of parking and an awesome, modern fitness center with all of the cardio, selectorize, plate loaded, racks and dumbbells that you need. I absolutely LOVE all of the Life Fitness and Hammer Strength they have 💪😬😬
Turn up during a heat wave to be rejected from entering the pool on the weekend. My two kids and wife had a membership but apparently that doesn’t hold any value. Consider all memberships cancelled! I recommend going to the older Chatham Y instead, much more friendly and welcoming
Still under construction I toured the facility with my service club. Overall concept and offering is going to be really fantastic. Very family friendly with touches of convenience offerings for those with younger members of the family. Sign me up!!!
This is one of the best gyms I've been to—modern, well-maintained, and equipped with high-end machines. The daily classes are a great bonus. My only suggestion would be to add a sauna or steam room, as it would complete the overall experience.
A great new facility overall with a friendly staff and plenty of cardio and weight training equipment. My only criticism is the men's locker room appears to have been designed by someone who has never used a locker room. While it has plenty of lockers, sinks and showers, there is only one bench (surprisingly the "Universal" locker room has several benches), no urinals, the toilet stalls are located right behind the sinks and beside the lockers, and the showers are tiny with un-adjustable shower heads and an open area with a separate curtain before the actual shower area. A larger shower could easily have been designed by eliminating the changing (?) space.
