The Findlay Family YMCA, located at 300 E Lincoln St, Findlay, OH, is a community-focused center offering a wide range of programs and facilities for all ages. It provides fitness equipment, group exercise classes, aquatic activities, youth sports, and childcare, aiming to promote healthy living and community engagement.
The YMCA features two distinct pools: a Warm Water Pool, which is four feet deep and maintained at a comfortable 90-91 degrees Fahrenheit, and a six-lane Lap Pool, kept at a cooler 80-82 degrees Fahrenheit for lap swimming and other aquatic exercises.
What are people saying (AI review summary)? The YMCA receives mixed reviews, with its main building described as older but generally well-maintained, featuring nice pools, basketball courts, racquetball courts, a decent weight room, treadmills with views, and a relaxing steam room. Some staff are praised as lovely. However, significant downsides include an often confusing layout and issues with other branches like closures due to flooding or unusable equipment. Many members express dissatisfaction with pricing, calling it overpriced, citing unannounced membership fee increases, and being charged after cancellation, leading to accusations of dishonest business practices. There are also frequent complaints about inconsistent facility access, such as pools being unavailable due to competitions or lifeguards leaving early, and poor customer service, including misinformation about membership types and facility hours.

First ever time at this YMCA. Went to watch a company sponsored basketball tournament. It is definitely an older building, but still seemed to be kept up nicely. Both of their pools looked nice. Basketball courts were nice as well. They even still have racketball courts here. It is kind of a maze to get around the place, but they did have maps located around the building.
The other YMCA gym has been closed all month due to flooding and then the main branch equipment is trash (ripped up and/or completely unusable) - half the time you can't even swim at the Findlay PUBLIC pool in the summer anymore since the YMCA started running it bc they use it for competitions I also pay for my child's tennis lessons (since 2023) and the outdoor courts are rented from the University of Findlay? Why don’t we have our own outdoor courts? Overpriced.
They will increase your membership without notice and if you cancel they will charge you the following month, decent gym but it’s ran by crooks who don’t care about honest business. I was paying 33$ a month like that’s not crazy then the next month me and my wife got charged 48.50!! How does 2 people pay 100$ a month for a gym membership?!!! They are as crooked as it gets.
I literally joined about 15 minutes ago and it was already a mistake. I tell the lady behind the front counter that I want a 1 month membership. She looks at me like I just spoke another language, then tells me that they don’t sell memberships by the month? The website says otherwise, but I digress. I tell her my interest is in the lap pool. She tells me that it is open until 8pm. It’s perfect, I got there before 7 pm. I fill out the paperwork, she charges my card, I go to the locker room to change. I make my way to the lap pool, the door is locked. I go back to front desk just for the lady to tell me that the life guard just went home early because no one was in there. W. T. F. Where is the common sense in that?
I love that the Y has a pool and basketball court. lovely staff, nice little weight room as well. I also like that the treadmills you can look outside the window. the steam room is also really relaxing.
