About

Family-friendly facility with a public swimming pool, playground, and skate park.

At the Holland Aquatic Center, the competition pool is typically maintained at approximately 78-80°F (25.5-26.7°C), while the warm water/therapy pool is usually kept warmer, around 88-90°F (31.1-32.2°C).

What are people saying (AI review summary)? Bouws pool is lauded as a phenomenal and affordable public pool, especially for families with children, offering free entry for those 16 and under. Reviewers appreciate the dive pool and the generally positive experience when not crowded. However, significant concerns were raised regarding hygiene, with patrons frequently not showering before entering the pool, and lifeguards reportedly failing to enforce such rules. The locker rooms are consistently described as old and 'nasty,' leading to strong calls for major updates and expansion. Staff performance is a mixed bag, with some finding staff friendly and attentive, while others reported lifeguards being inattentive and chatting. A disturbing incident involved a staff member following a patron to their car about a photo. While kids generally have a blast, the pool is explicitly noted as not a quiet place suitable for an adult-oriented vibe. Many hope for a revamp, better maintenance, and more vigilant staff.

Happened upon this pool and absolutely love it! 🥰 On the days I visited there were few people creating a positive experience. There is a dive pool and most of kids take advantage of this novelty. It wouldn’t hurt to have signage reminding ppl to rinse off prior to jumping in the pool. Actually, it is somewhere… And pool reminders are always good to have available. Staff are friendly and attentive. Thank you 🙏🏻

This summer, 2025, this is a phenomenal pool for kids and parents. Clean facilities, well trained lifeguards, and unbeatable prices. 16 and under are free, everyone else is $2. Not a quiet place though. If I wanted a calm, mostly adult vibe I wouldn't go to Bouws. My guess is the staff has a lot of turnover from year to year so it is possible the experience could vary a lot, from one summer to the next.

Beautiful pool!!! Absolutely disgusting to see person after person and not shower🤮🤮🤮 too young teenage girls just went by me, cute bathing suits but so much body oder, and they're going to jump into the pool! I asked the lifeguard to enforce the rules she said she couldn't, yuk!! I guess they should just change the name to "Public Bath" 🤣🤣🤣 guys after work I guess this is where you should go, lol.

I came here when I was a child, great memories. Unfortunately, the place has not been updated I'd guess ever.... Locker rooms are pretty old and nasty. Kids get in free and that's absolutely amazing. ❤️ I'm not sure why August 20th is the last day to swim for the summer but yea.... Unfortunately, the Lifeguards stood around chatting the entire visit 5-7pm as you see in the photos. I wish they would pay more attention. I'm looking forward to the day this place gets revamped and expanded. The building next door has been gone for quite some time and is a vacant lot now. I would LOVE to see an upgrade and amazing water park considering this is the only outside public pool in Holland. Kids had a blast and ultimately that's what truly matters. UPDATE: a man that worked at the pool who walked by me more than once decided to follow me out to my car and approach me about a photo I took proving the lifeguards were in fact standing around chatting for more than 30 minutes! One even having her back completely to the pool and children. That was extremely creepy that he would wait until I left and follow me to my car. I'm curious why he wouldn't ask me if I had an concern while I was there! I received an email about the photo and removed it for privacy reasons of the children in the photo. I really hope they upgrade/revamp this pool and hire staff that care! Whom are alert and aware of all surroundings.

Love that it has remained pretty much the same for 50 years.
