Family-friendly destination offering a swimming pool with a slide, plus diving boards.
Specific, consistently maintained pool temperatures for the Alvin D. Brown Memorial Swimming Pool are not readily available in public listings. As a public outdoor facility, its water temperature is generally subject to ambient weather conditions, and while some minimal heating for comfort may be provided, specific degrees are not widely advertised.
What are people saying (AI review summary)? The pool is generally seen as a good value at $6 per person, offering fun for all ages with free entry for seniors and very young children. Positive features include a ramp for easy entry, a waterslide (though one review mentions it being down, others highlight it as a fun feature), and a unique grassy area with shade and picnic spots, which is a notable departure from typical public pools. While the pool itself is often described as clean, common complaints highlight the dated facilities, particularly moldy showers and bathrooms needing renovation. Suggestions for improvement include more play areas for young children and additional diving boards to reduce wait times. A significant negative concerns lifeguard behavior, with reports of them allowing friends to cut lines and showing indifference to complaints. Small balls and wearable flotation devices for children are permitted, but large floating devices are generally not.

This is a nice pool. It's fun for all ages with a ramp to enter the pool if you need it and a fun waterslide. It also has a grassy area with picnics and shade trees. Not something I've seen at most public pools which tend to be all concrete and no shade. You can't bring floating devices to lay on but you can bring a small ball to throw and little kids can use wearable float devices. A few hours of family fun for $6 a person is a good deal. I also believe people over 65 yrs get in free and so do very young children and infants. Highly recommend.
It used to be so much fun but the slide is down and the lifeguards let their friends cut in lines and do whatever they want. I sat and watched these teenagers cut in line so many times that my 10 year old said he didn’t want to jump off the diving board anymore. You tell the lifeguard and they look at you like they couldn’t care less.
Brown Pool is a bargain at $6 for an afternoon of swimming and sitting in the sun. There's a wonderful 2 or 3 story slide, plenty of lifeguards, and a concession stand. There's an attached grassy yard with some shade if you want to lay out. Pool toys are allowed, in the way of balls and flotation devices.
Great pool, it is a little dated but is clean.
The pool is fun but the showers have Mold in them and the pool is very clean but they need to improve the place more for the little children to play at and another diving board so you don’t have to wait while people go down they also need to redo the whole bathrooms and showers
