It is amazing to me that a university would invest so much money in a facility and not take into account the place and the weather where the facility is being built. Likely for the same money they could have built a natatorium like the one in San Juan, under roof, which functioning would not have been affected by the rain and the sun that Mayagüez is known for. It is inexplicable to me how someone would choose this design for this location. In the bleechers the sun is unbereable and if it rains competitions need to be cancelled! This facility needs a roof.

Excellent swimming facilities constructed for the Central American and Caribbean Games 2010. Would be even better if the seating area had a roof.

This is a large facility on the campus. Puerto Rico seems to have many who care for their health. The membership is limited to students, faculty, and alumnus which is why I deducted stars.
