About

Fitness center for swimming, indoor cycling, and basketball, as well as racquetball, and a child-care center.

The pools at the Frank G. Berti Sr. Branch are heated for year-round comfort. While specific temperatures may vary between different pool types (e.g., lap pool versus program pool), YMCA pools are generally maintained within a comfortable range, often around 82-84°F (28-29°C) for program pools and potentially slightly cooler for lap swimming.

What are people saying (AI review summary)? The YMCA receives mixed reviews, with strong positive feedback for its summer camp and Pickleball programs, but significant criticism regarding the cleanliness and maintenance of its aquatic facilities. The summer camp is highly praised for its engaging activities, field trips, dedicated counselors, and overall positive experience for children, with a new program director noted for responsiveness. The Pickleball program is also lauded for its friendly community, diverse skill levels, and social atmosphere. However, major concerns are raised about the aquatic area's hygiene, citing cloudy water, strong chemical odors, grime on tiles, mold in drains and locker rooms, unsanitary shower conditions, and lack of soap. While staff are generally described as friendly and helpful, there are isolated complaints about staff conduct concerning equipment usage and general shower room hygiene, specifically mentioning the need for curtain changes. Reviewers express hope for improved investment in maintenance, particularly in the aquatic areas.

I’’ve always appreciated the YMCA for being a family-friendly and affordable place to stay active, but I was really disappointed by the condition of the aquatic area during my recent visits. To start, the cleanliness of the pool area is a major concern. The water appeared cloudy, and there was a noticeable chemical odor that didn’t seem normal—almost as if the chlorine levels were either way too high or not being managed properly. The pool tiles had a layer of grime, and I even noticed some mold around the drains and locker room floors, which is unacceptable for a facility that serves so many children and On top of that, the locker rooms and showers were in poor shape—wet floors, clogged drains, and no soap in the dispensers. I understand that staffing and maintenance can be a challenge, but basic hygiene and safety should always be a top priority, especially in shared water facilities. I’ve raised these concerns with staff, but I haven’t seen any improvements. I really hope the YMCA takes this feedback seriously and invests more in keeping the aquatic area clean, safe, and well-supervised.

My daughter spent the summer at the ymca city branch summer camp. Special shout out to Aydin, Ella, Fibby, Andrew & all the counselors and CITs who made my daughters summer incredible and unforgettable. She had such an amazing time and absolutely LOVED attending summer camp there. Made it easy for drop off and pick up so I could work over the summer while she had fun. They attended several field trips and always had really fun activities planned. New Program Director Jose took over a few months ago and really was eager to please and hear feedback from parents. My daughter cried on her last day when I picked her up as she had grown so close to her counselor Aydin, who was an incredible role model and buddy to my daughter. Very grateful for her experience and memories made. ❤️

The staff are friendly and helpful. The shower room hygiene need to pay attention to. At least change the shower curtains first.

Nice equipment but you have some people that work there that think using a piece of lifting equipment to balance themselves justifies keeping someone from actually using the equipment.....do better. Other than that its a nice place
