We booked 2 separate rooms under the same name. We arrive at the correct time, they inform us only one of the rooms is ready. Ok cool, can we get wristbands to go enjoy the waterpark. Yep! Great, and we had a blast. They failed to text us about the second room being ready as they said they would. I have to go to the counter yet again and explain the situation. We get it figured out, then I get to the room. Wristbands don’t work. I have to call again, explain the situation. They send security to let us in. In doing so they failed to activate our wristbands to the room. So I have to figure that out as well. We have a good time the rest of the day. Next day comes, we had paid for late checkout on one of the rooms. Of course it was the room with the issues. So our 2 young kids are ready to lay down after playing hard in the water, we get to the room and they wristbands don’t work yet again. I call once again. It takes me 3 people to get to a manager. Then she just listens to what I had to say and pretty much blames us for the problem since we only checked in the one room that was ready on the kiosk. So despite getting all the bands for everyone in our party for both rooms it was still our fault for doing it incorrectly. The manager only decides to wave the late check out fee. Meanwhile I was left feeling frustrated and waiting on the staff multiple times. I don’t think we will come back, it’s just not worth it. No accountability on their part.
My family and I go to this great wolf lodge 3 times a year because of how clean it is and how warm the pools are. We also love the arcade even though it is insanely expensive. Unfortunately, this last trip was not nearly as amazing as it used to be. The wave pool was very cold and the waves were really quite lame. The arcade prices were unbelievable this time - we spent $60 plus had the wolf passes and we still came out with a few tootsie rolls. They traded out all the good machines for machines that are more like gambling machines designed for kids. The lighting makes it seem really depressing - it used to be dark with the lights flashing but now it's just.. something's missing. We had an amazing view from our room but the window was COVERED in bird poop - we could barely see out. The toilet handle barely looked. The breakfast place is good but we spent almost $100 before tip for 2 adults and 2 kids for some breakfast meat, eggs, and fruit. It's not a full service restaurant so spending $100 is just nuts. The lady at the front was really kind at least! The price of parking is ridiculous plus a bunch of other junk fees. We'll be going to Disneyland instead for our next trip - it ends up costing almost the same.
I was impressed with the training of the lifeguards. They were very meticulously checking every pool. I have 4 kids under 10 and felt confident having them there. I liked we could be there 2 days and pay for one night stay. All the extra activities were good but slightly expensive. Parking was $20.
The rooms were clean only downside is why don’t the bathrooms have exhaust fans my fiancé is a stinky man. And our room had gnats. Super annoying. They did offer to move us rooms which what great but we had too many kids to pack up at 9 at night so we dealt with it. The employees were so sweet and went above and beyond to make our stay feel amazing. The pools were great and slides were so fun! The obstacle course was my favorite!
I personally love the great wolf Lodge for my family. The water park is great for all ages there is something for everyone. They have showers in the bathrooms and bathing suit dryers. The whole place is really clean considering how many people come visit. They offer a lot of fun activities like balloon twisting and yoga. I have an 11 year old, 8 year and newborn (surprise) baby and they all enjoy the place so much. I love that I can play with my kids, take them upstairs for a nap then return for more fun. Only things I think they need to improve on is not charge for parking cause that's lame, having an area for drying/hanging swimsuits in the hotel room and putting in microwaves. Other than that I always feel like it's worth the money and it's a peace of mind for my family and my wallet haha.
