Warm-water, clean indoor pool offering classes for adults and kids, a diving board and wheelchair accessibility.
Specific pool temperatures for the Southwest Community Center Indoor Pool are not explicitly published on the official city website. However, public indoor pools of this nature are typically maintained at a comfortable temperature, generally in the low to mid-80s Fahrenheit (approximately 27-29°C), suitable for general recreational use and swim programming.
What are people saying (AI review summary)? This swimming facility is widely praised for its cleanliness, friendly and enthusiastic staff, and affordability, especially for swim lessons for both children and adults. Instructors and lifeguards are consistently described as great and nice. The pool's warm temperature is considered ideal for lessons, though some lap swimmers find it too warm (in the high 80s). Positive aspects include good lane access for lap swimming and a bouncy springboard. However, there are some notable drawbacks: the men's "locker room" lacks actual lockers, offering only hooks and benches; showers are non-adjustable, hot, and have limited privacy. There were also concerns about the pool closing early, with lifeguards reportedly using it for play, and a general desire for more lap swim hours.

As a lap swimmer from out of town, I'm grateful for easy access to this facility. Pros: Clean pool and facility, friendly staff, good lane access, inexpensive Cons: Men's "locker room" has no lockers but, rather, hooks and benches; showers are non-adjustable, hot, and only separated from pool by a single shower curtain; pool is warm for lap swimming (high 80s)
I went a week ago at 3.30 and at 4.30 was told by the lifeguards that pool was being closed just to realize that yeah. Indeed they closed it to play in it .. besides of that thanks to the NY state . Everything really clean free swim and lap swim SHOULD have more hours
The best place in Syracuse for all of our children to learn to swim! Pool is warm and the lifeguard staff is great and super nice! Super BOUNCY Springboard too!
I am taking swimming lessons for the second time here. The instructors are enthusiastic about teaching swimming and such great teachers. The pool is clean and the water temperature is perfect. If you love swimming, don’t let winter stop you. Come to the best pool in the City of Syracuse. 🙂💙
My son has started swim classes here and so far the staff seems nice and good with working with kids. Swim classes available for kids and adults. Dressing rooms and pool are clean.
