What are people saying (AI review summary)? The golf course receives mixed reviews, frequently praised for its great layout, playable challenge, and location in a nice neighborhood, with some fairways noted to be in excellent shape. However, a significant recurring concern across multiple reviews is the poor condition of various aspects of the course. These include raggedy range facilities, range balls, carts, and some tee boxes. The rough is often described as thick and weedy, and the greens consistently receive criticism for being thick, grainy, slow, sandy, and in overall poor shape, making them difficult to putt. Some long-time patrons express frustration over a decade of neglect and feel the course is not worth its current price. While one reviewer highlighted a positive recent experience with management (GM and Owners) taking swift accountability and corrective action, another review vehemently condemned the course as the 'worst' in the city. Additionally, a separate review praised a family brunch held at the location, noting it as a phenomenal experience with great food and service from the chef.
Reviews
Positives: Located in a very nice neighborhood. Great layout and a very playable course with just the right amount of “challenge”! The fairways were in excellent shape and the assistant pro seemed to be a nice dude! Negatives: Range and the range balls were raggedy. Carts worked but were kinda raggedy. Some, not all, of tee boxes were raggedy. Rough was really thick with a lot of weed grass. The greens were thick and grainy and slow. Very hard to putt. Some were not in very good shape. Overall I did enjoy my round and enjoyed the course. You can tell that the status quo is met and the course is gonna stay right where it is. I would however go back and play it again though.
*Update - My review can now include a personal experience paired with my golf experience. As a long time patron of this golf course, 10+ years, there's growing frustrations; it's one of the best layouts in the city yet has its challenges with conditions. Although the conditions aren't ideal, I appreciate the swift accountability and correction, followed by phone calls from both the GM and Owners. I am looking forward to supporting the efforts of the golf course and will keep my updates as progress is surely made. I've increased my rating because it's bigger than golf, its community!
I’ve never made a review in my life until now. Better off putting in the rough of oakmont. The tee box might as well be called a sandbox. Some greens have so much sand I’d call it a bunker. Break it off in ya to play the worst course in Tallahassee. I could weedeat better than they mow. Our pace of play was slow shooting +9 on hole 14. Yea we try to play with 6 guys. The group behind us had 5 guys. 400 yard par 4 and were on putting green. They don’t have to wait, they can drive and not make it to the green. I mean who the hell is playing behind me? Bryson Dechambeau? Best thing they can do is call in the forestry and control burn the whole damn course.
We had the pleasure of enjoying a family brunch. FE-Nomenal and Cheesecakes by Sylvia had truly outdone themselves. Great dishes for the whole family and amazing desserts too. The chef came to check in with everyone make sure the experience was truly FE-Nomenal. We will definitely be back!
The course has been neglected and in need of a knowledgeable groundskeeping crew and or stakeholder who can take a Lead on turning the course around. Definitely not worth a $40/50 experience in its current state of appearance and functionality. No need for an apology, there’s been enough over the last decade+ on the reviews.
