The Tyler ISD Aquatic Center, located at 3013 Earl Campbell Pkwy, Tyler, TX, is a state-of-the-art aquatic facility serving both the Tyler Independent School District and the broader community. It features an Olympic-sized competition pool and a separate instructional/warm-up pool, hosting swim meets, lessons, open swim sessions, and water fitness classes.
The competition pool is typically maintained at approximately 79-80°F (26.1-26.7°C), while the instructional/warm-up pool is kept warmer, generally ranging from 84-86°F (28.9-30°C).
What are people saying (AI review summary)? This outdoor 25-yard pool is described as top-notch, featuring around 20 clean, well-chlorinated lanes, and is known for its friendly staff. It offers swimming lessons and hosts well-managed swim teams with good coaching, keeping the water warm in winter. Classes are typically 30 minutes, twice a week. However, there are some notable drawbacks: the parking lot can be challenging due to other drivers, there are no family showers, and parents are not permitted in the locker rooms. An accessibility issue was also noted with bathrooms being set up on a handicap ramp. Swimmers are advised to bring shaded goggles due to the sun.
Reviews
They do offer swimming lessons at this pool. Just be careful with the parking lot because a lot of people don't know how to drive or Park.
I went for an assessment for my son. People are friendly. Will see how it goes. The facility is outdoor and it's really nice. Watched some YouTube videos about how was built. No family showers and parents are not allowed in the locker rooms :( The class is 30 minutes length, twice a week.
This is a top notch outdoor 25 yard pool. There are about 20 lanes and they keep it clean with the right amount of chlorine. Make sure you bring shaded goggles so you're not blinded by the sun!
Very nice place to watch a swim meet. Someone set up the bathrooms on the handicap ramp and my husband had to hop over the curb with his knee scooter. We would have had a harder time if he would have been in a wheelchair.
My kids are on the swim team here. We'll managed, coached, and they keep the water warm in the winter for the kids!
