For a free community pool I think Perkins Pool is amazing. It isn't too small, there are areas for all different age groups/abilities, free lifejackets for children to use, the slide is nice. it wasn't too crowded which was one of my main concerns

A good place to have fun with your children, a safe, clean place, very attentive lifeguards. Also, outside he has a basketball court for those children who always like to play.

Update in2024 ; new equipment ,lounge chairs, updated changing rooms ! Free use of life vests ! Needs concession stand and vending machines.Bring your own food , no glass bottles.

Make sure you register before you go! But otherwise it was a great time. For someone who went to old Perkins pool VS Perkins pool now, I was impressed. My kids had fun (all kids 18 and under must be accompanied by an adult)! Safety checks every hour where 18 and over can swim freely. The lifeguards stay on their job so follow the rules! You do get checked for contraband so don't take any (no alcohol, no drugs, no weapons and no glass of any sort). They offer swim test for 18 and under for the deep end. We are definitely going back. Let's make akron fun for families again!
