Clean 25- and 50-yard pools, also offering swimming lessons and water aerobics.
The 50-meter competition pool is maintained at 79-81°F (26-27°C). The therapeutic/instructional pool is kept warmer, at 87-89°F (30-32°C). The whirlpool/spa is heated to 102-104°F (38-40°C).
What are people saying (AI review summary)? This older aquatic facility receives mixed reviews. Positive aspects include wonderful hospitality, friendly staff, good parking, and concessions. For swim meets, the visibility from the stands is good, and 50-meter lanes are appreciated for open swim, which costs $5 during specific hours. Recent feedback notes an improvement in bathroom cleanliness, and some found the facility enjoyable. However, significant concerns remain, including the facility's age and need for repairs. Spectator areas upstairs are often described as uncomfortably hot, and there are complaints about inconsistent pool temperatures (some find it cold/chilly, while one mentioned comfortable temperature). A recurring issue is the 'weird' or 'gross' guest bathrooms, which require walking through locker rooms to access, raising comfort and SafeSport guideline concerns. Additionally, the facility reportedly lacks wheelchair accessibility and has had its diving boards closed for years.
Reviews
This is an older facility; but the hospitality is wonderful! Here for a swim meet- there are concessions and a good amount of parking. Spectators need to be upstairs, and it's hot. Bring yourself a neck fan or cooling towel if you're going to be here for a while. There's an elevator for those who need it. Cons- The bathrooms for guests are a little weird; there's a coach bathroom, but as a parent, you have to use the same facilities as the swimmers and you walk thru the lockers first to get to the bathroom. It feels wrong and uncomfortable and I would rather find a different bathroom for sanity and SafeSport guidelines.
Friendly staff, but in need of repairs. The pool was colder than it used to be, no wheelchair accessibility anymore, gross bathrooms, and the diving boards have been closed for years now. What is the city doing?
Great facility. Comfortable temperature for an indoor pool. Great visibility of the pool from the stands for swim competition.
$5 to Open Swim. Hours for Open Swim is Monday - Friday 12pm to 4pm & Sat 12pm to 3pm Fairly Clean Very Enjoyable
Went today 6-16-23, nice 50 meter lanes. The bathroom was a lot cleaner than before. FYI, water a little chilly. Over nice no fighting for a lane , I will be back. Thank you Augusta!
