Many members report experiencing rude, dismissive, and unhelpful staff, with some instances of harassment regarding member age. The equipment is consistently criticized for being broken, outdated, rusty, and poorly maintained, with some machines reportedly non-functional for long periods, raising safety concerns. Membership fees are considered too high for the declining quality and poor value offered. If there were an option for zero stars, this YMCA would have earned it ten times over. From the moment you walk in, the staff treats you like an inconvenience rather than a member. Rude, dismissive, and clearly uninterested in helping anyone—it’s as if customer service is a foreign concept here. The equipment looks like it was dragged out of a junkyard—rusty, broken, and outdated. Half of the machines don’t even work, and the ones that do squeak, grind, or flat-out break mid-use. Safety clearly isn’t a priority, which is shocking for a gym. And the rules? Absolutely outrageous. They seem to exist just to make your workout miserable. Want to use free weights? There’s a rule for that. Bring a water bottle? Rule for that. Breathe too loud? You guessed it—there’s probably a rule for that too. There’s even a rule that you can’t walk your dog on their premise along the outside border which borders our neighborhood. Just insane The overall atmosphere is hostile and unwelcoming. Instead of fostering community, this YMCA has mastered the art of making people regret stepping inside. Save your money, your time, and your sanity. Literally any other gym—even working out in your garage with a couple of rocks—would be a better experience than setting foot in this disaster of a facility. Which is now what I do :)
I've been a member of this gym for 6 years. They charge $87 a month for a family of four. Some of the classes are good but I know instructors and people who left because they didn't like it. I basically stayed for convenience but it's way too expensive. I won't miss it.
Equipment any facilities are nice. However, the staff continuously harassed my son by questioning his age when he has his own nationwide membership. Additionally, the “trainers” stop and question my kids ages regularly. Lastly, the attitude! If you are in customer service industry, do not have a shitty attitude. The career choice was yours, not mine.
"Nonprofit gym" Increasing memberships price, yet maintenance keeps going downhill... why does a 55$ gym membership look like this? machines have been broken for almost a year, other machines have duct tape, can't bring a guest, holiday hours outrageous...This gym just keeps getting worse every year. DO NOT SIGN UP TO THIS GYM. You will get better value out of any other gym.
Only thing I have to complain about are the hours this gym is open. It needs to be a 24/7 YMCA with how populated the area is. When my old YMCA went 24 hrs, everyone loved it. We got a key fob to open the door and everyone signed a waiver. They closed the locker rooms at normal hours but at any time we were able to access the equipment. Will going 24/7 ever be possibility or extending weekend hours?
