The Forney ISD Aquatic Center, located at 431 Inspiration Way in Forney, TX, is a state-of-the-art facility serving the Forney Independent School District and the local community. It features an 8-lane competition pool and a separate 3-lane warm-up/instructional pool, supporting competitive swimming, training, lessons, and recreational aquatic activities.
The competition pool at the Forney ISD Aquatic Center is generally maintained at a temperature between 78-80°F (25.5-26.7°C). The warm-up/instructional pool is kept warmer, typically ranging from 84-86°F (29-30°C).
What are people saying (AI review summary)? The Forney Aquatic Center is largely praised as a clean, new, and amazing facility with a professional, energetic, and safety-conscious staff and a dedicated director. Many appreciate its suitability for lap swimming, its affordability, and its convenience as an indoor option. However, a major point of criticism is the center's perceived exclusivity, with most services and activities, including lessons and swim teams, catering only to Forney ISD students. This limitation frustrates non-FISD taxpayers who feel their contributions are wasted and are forced to seek aquatic programs outside the district. Other suggestions for improvement include extending and standardizing open swim hours, and increasing availability for popular classes like water aerobics, which currently have long waiting lists. Scheduling is noted as still being a work in progress due to the facility being new.

It’s a nice place, and it’s not expensive. Plus, it’s not too far from home. It would be cool if the open swim hours were a little longer, and at the same time daily. But, I understand they have other things going on up there. It is a great option if you want something inside, so you don’t have to worry about sun exposure.
Nice facility, great pool for doing laps. No real availability in the water aerobics class. Told not to bother since there is a big waiting list. The lifeguards are really nice and professional.
Unfortunately all services/activities they offer ONLY cater to FISD(forney isd) kids. This aquatic center is not inclusive of any kid outside the school district. Such a waste of my taxes, unless things change at this aquatic center. All lessons, swim teams and water polo teams only accept kids that attend the FISD. They do not offer any CLUB swim team at this aquatic center. They also do not offer any other swim teams/activities/lessons that are open to kids outside of their school district. As a Forney tax payer, I’m disappointed. We currently have to drive all our kids daily to Rockwall for swimming. We are a part of the RACE club swim team in Rockwall that accepts any and all students. They swim at the Rockwall aquatic center. Funny thing is, their aquatic center is literally next to their Rockwall schools but they STILL accept all kids on their teams, so long as you make the tryout. Other successful towns have similar swim programs and club teams, such as flower mound/Lewisville for example. CLUB teams that accept any student, regardless of where they school. And if it’s not a CLUB team, they have recreation centers with swim teams and other swim programs that allow any kid to join. It’s pretty ridiculous how Forney aquatic center is just run by the FISD and the ENTIRE community CANNOT benefit from this place. Disappointed with the Forney aquatic center for not allowing other kids to join their water programs, especially considering the growth of Forney lately and the need Forney has for a legit swim team/ swim lessons in this area….programs that are not just run by the FISD.
I love that this facility is clean and the staff are pleasant. The director takes pride in his work, and it shows through the care of the facility and communication. It is great having a space for water aerobics and lap swimming so close to home.
Absolutely amazing facility, brand new everything, the director in charge completely awesome individual the staff, young very energetic and helpful, they take safety very seriously at this location, very clean water, they are still working on their scheduling because everything is still brand new, they have training classes/courses for the young ones, they also have aquatic training for all ages, I would highly recommend to check the online scheduling section, because they do have teams that train during those hours, they have a kids section 3 ft to 5 ft that is used for swimming classes and they have a couple of lanes that are 7 ft deep and then 9 and above, the deepest I believe is 11 ft 4 in and they are also the ones with diving boards
