Got the kids together with some friends and enjoyed a beautiful Sunday afternoon at the park! Everything was kept clean, lifeguards were always alert and actively on site watching over swimmers. Honestly probably the best I've seen when it comes to lifeguards, no one was goofing around slacking off or anything they all were focused and ready if help were to be needed. Park has a pretty good selection in what they have to offer for being a city recreational center. •Multiple slides for young and older visitors. •Whirl pool •Regular outside pool •Splash pad •Lawn seating as well as pool side seating •Concession stand •Indoor pool with low/high dive, laps, and varying depths available •Hot tub •Sauna 10/10 recomend
This place is super cool. They let too many people in at once though so on days like today (saterday) it's so packed its hard to enjoy anything. The concession stand is reasonably priced. Don't waste your time on the lemon ice its literally two bites. But kona ice is better. Also please be mindful with your kids when it's busy. When it's busy like that kids are getting hit by mistake under water causing black eyes. And the big water slides. The water at the bottom is only 3 feet!!! To me thats so dangerous. There were little to no warnings and I went down and hit my but snd skid my finger. So just be careful please.
Horrible experience. Way too crowded. Teenagers running a muck. Out of control. The stench of marijuana was sickening! This place has gone down hill! Was not like it was 3 years ago. Will not return!
I'm so sad I feel the need to get on here and leave a bad review. I hope it will help push management to get things under control so I can give a better rating later. I've been going to the rec outdoor pool for many years. After today, I will be going elsewhere. Aside from the ridiculous line to get in because they made one side pass holders only this year, the pools were surprisingly bug-filled and dirty. But I brushed all that off; maybe it was just a busy day. What finally got me fed up was the constant line-cutting at all the slides, the absolute lack of discipline for misbehaving teenagers, and the HOARDS of kids in the pool during adult swim. The lifeguards are clearly not trained well and did not know how to get control of any situation. There were kids flipping over toddlers and causing a lot of safety issues, with nothing but a faint whistle blown at them over and over. Somebody is going to get seriously hurt there and sue the rec. I'm glad I won't be there to see it happen. They need to train their guards better and get a handle on that place, or it'll only get worse. The amount of parents I saw outraged and talking to lifeguards who just nodded their heads and moved on was so disappointing. 😔 I even saw two lifeguards yelling at each other over a situation! The guards at other pools I have visited are super on top of it and don't tolerate anything like what I saw today at the Kettering Rec.
Pictures look good and it sounds like a great time, however we arrived on Friday 20 June at 1230, waited 30 minutes to enter, paid $34, and ended up leaving after 2hrs due to being incredibly overcrowded. We saw two buses of camp kids being dropped off. It was actually dangerous due to the number of kids in the pool. Not to mention annoying that kids had water guns, were dunking each other, etc Probably won't return since staff didn't cut off the number through the gate.
