Relaxed recreation center featuring an ice rink and indoor pools set off the highway.
EPIC maintains its pools at varying temperatures suited for different activities. The Lap Pool is typically kept around 80-82°F, the Leisure Pool, designed for family fun, is warmer at approximately 84-86°F, and the Warm Water Pool, often used for therapy and relaxation, is the warmest, usually between 90-94°F.
What are people saying (AI review summary)? EPIC is generally described as a large, nice, and well-maintained facility, offering multiple pools (including a recovery pool and diving well) and ice rinks suitable for a wide array of activities such as swimming, hockey, figure skating, and recovery. Many users commend the reasonable day pass prices, easy reservation options, and the helpfulness of the staff, including attentive lifeguards and friendly front-door personnel. However, there are mixed experiences with staff, with one review noting rude and unhelpful behavior. A significant negative point highlighted is inconsistent scheduling, particularly frequent cancellations of public ice time. Despite these scheduling and occasional staff issues, the facility's quality and comprehensive amenities are consistently praised, making it a popular choice for both casual and competitive users.
Reviews
The people/staff were rude and didn't really have a good handle o the info nor would they let myself and 2 kiddos look around with their Grandma. They weren't very helpful as to what the facility had 2 offer. Facility is really nice though.
Great for swimming, playing hockey, recovery, etc. EPIC has three pools (sometimes 2 depending on bulkhead placement) and two ice rinks (one is usually free skate and the other is stick and puck or a hockey game). There is also a recovery pool with jets and horizontal bars as well as a small wader. The diving well is 12 feet. The locker rooms for both the rinks and pool are well equipped, with the pool side having lockers and showers. Staff is usually pretty helpful and nice. The FAST swim team also practices here, which has many branches for all ages and skill levels. High school groups like Fossil and Collins practice here during school swim seasons. As someone who is there everyday swimming competitively EPIC is a great place to be.
Large, well maintenanced aquatic center with my options for lap swim times. Prices are reasonable for day passes and it possible even for me as an out of towner guest to reserve lap swim times. I have swam both in 2019 and 2020 at this facility and have found it to be consistently well kept with attentice lifeguards, friendly front door staff and a pool that is often very active with both casual and more serious swimmers.
Multiple times over the last few months the public ice time has been canceled and our daughter missed a lesson due to the cancelation today that was still on the schedule as open skate. The facility is not bad but scheduling is not good.
Very nice facility, our first time here for the Ft Collins Classic figure skating competition. The ice looks good but we only made it to the blue rink not the green. The seating has a great view and it's warm no bundling up required. The pools look awesome but we didn't visit them. We will try to add this competition to our clubs list every year.
