What are people saying (AI review summary)? Reviews for the camp are mixed, reflecting both highly positive experiences and recent significant concerns. Many praise the camp for its fantastic activities (including scenic hikes), good food options accommodating picky eaters, well-kept cabins, and super clean bathrooms. Camp counselors are frequently described as amazing, dedicated, and wonderful with groups. The camp is also lauded as a great place for kids to interact, team build, learn, explore, and connect with nature, with some considering it one of their best childhood experiences. However, a recent review critically states the camp has 'gone downhill,' citing drastic changes this past year that resulted in limited and repetitive activities (only two unique activities daily, the same all week), reduced swimming time, and a lack of big group activities, leading to boredom. Another review noted poor execution of a themed day camp week, where the theme felt like an afterthought rather than being integrated into activities, though the child still enjoyed the experience.

Fantastic camp! Great activities. The hike to the peek has the best views! Good food options that kept all our picky eaters fed. Cabins well kept. Bathrooms and shower house super clean. Camp counselors were AMAZING! Stewart was super nice and sweet and was spectacular with our group! Would definitely recommend!
The camp has really gone downhill this last year. They only swim once a day, versus 2 in previous years. They have limited choice activities (nature, gardening, climbing, and archery) - notice no big group activities or sports, and the kids only do 2 activities a day, and it’s the same activity every day during the week. My child was so bored, and complained that snack time was an hour long! I have no idea what happened this year, but I would think twice. This camp used to be outstanding - but this year it’s been beyond awful. I have no idea why they felt the need to change things so drastically.
What a great place for kids to interact, team build, learn and explore! All the activities they have for the kids is amazing and there's never a dull moment when visiting this HUGE YMCA location. In a time where technology and social media has taken over, this place is so needed for our kids future and to bring them back to enjoying nature and friendship!
I signed my daughter up for 2 of the day-camp themed weeks. The first week was Sci-Fi themed and they didn't do anything Sci-Fi themed on the 1st day. After asking on of the leaders if they would be doing anything more on theme, it sounded like one of the leaders had come up with a game the night before and had bought Dollar Store/Party City quality alien related products for some of the Counselors to wear. Other activities included coloring a picture of an alien. Maybe my expectations have been spoiled by my childhood camp experiences but I thought the theme would've played a bigger part of the camp experience. It's been more of a spirit wear theme. My daughter is enjoying her time, in any case.
Went here 10 years ago and I still think fondly back on those memories. One of the best experiences of my childhood. So many different activities for kids to do, great sleep away camp
