I've always seen the Calypso Cove but was closed for so many years. When we heard it was finally open, we had to check it out and it was worth the wait! For only $12 for ages 5+ to non-margate residents, this waterpark is perfect for kids of all ages AND parents! Our 7 and 5 year old loved swimming in the open pool (we don't have a personal pool so we spent the most time swimming). Even with a bunch of kids from camp enjoying the pool, we had enough space to fully enjoy it and practice our swimming. The kids playground is amazing! The water is deep for a playground - this is not a splash pad, it's a mix of a shallow pool (about 2ft of water) and a playground. So fun! We saw lots of 2 and under kids with swimmies on and they had a blast. The waterslides were my favorite part. I haven't been on a waterslide in years and I had a blast. I thought I could go with my 7 year old since she's tall enough, but it's one at a time with a lifeguard at the bottom of the slide waiting to help. We didn't check out the concessions area, but there is food that you can order and pavilions to enjoy plenty of shade. We will DEFINITELY be back and can't believe how close this is compared to Rapids in Davie and honestly the perfect size so I could lounge and watch my kids if I wanted to. Highly recommend going. Make sure to call and check for hours since we thought it opened at 9, but it was 10 today.
I decided to give Calypso Cove another chance this year from having a horrible experience last year, but yet again, I was disappointed. The pool was overly crowded, cloudy and full of bugs and leaves. I did see a life guard netting them out later in the day. However, the pool was slightly cloudy and chilly. The area for younger children was ice cold and unbearable to get wet. I arrived at 2:30 and by 3:30 I went to get a pizza and was told at the concession stand they stopped cooking at 3:30 so your options are ice pops and chips at that time or later. The larger water slides seem good however you must be 48” to ride them so the water park was completely useless and a waste of money and time for me and my 3 year old. Slight close at 4:30 and this picture was taken at 4:35 10 minutes before they close
Very organized, clean, and spacious water park. Lots of lifeguards on duty and well well-designed splash area. We had a blast!
The lifeguards were very attentive. The keep a watchful eye. I also noticed that the lifeguards switched post every so often to keep a fresh set of eyes in the area.
I absolutely love this Water Park. I have twin boys that I bring here. They are 11 . We go for 3 or 4 hours. They have plenty parking and food on-site. I chose to bring packed lunches. Plenty of seating and water activities. Great for small kids , adults , and everyone in between. Only $6/person. Great for people on a budget.
