Lederer Pool, located at 1219 E Montgomery Ave, Philadelphia, PA 19125, is a seasonal outdoor public swimming pool operated by Philadelphia Parks & Recreation. It serves as a community hub for recreation and swimming during the summer months, offering a refreshing escape for local residents.
Lederer Pool is generally an unheated outdoor facility. Its water temperature fluctuates with ambient weather conditions and relies on natural warming from the sun during its operational summer season.
What are people saying (AI review summary)? The pool is generally praised for its cleanliness, ample lifeguards ensuring safety, and free entry, making it a popular spot to cool off, especially for families. Positive aspects include the pool being 'pretty nice' and its proximity to Fishtown Rec Center for post-swim snacks. However, several drawbacks were noted: the pool's maximum depth is 5ft, deck chairs are not allowed due to space limitations, and there's a desire for more shaded areas. A significant negative experience involved an attendant who was perceived as selectively enforcing capacity rules, denying entry to some while allowing others, and showing poor customer service regarding closing times.

Looks like it is a pretty decent pool. What I didn’t appreciate was the attendant at the gate. He complained of it being 45minutes until closing. Kept telling people they were at capacity. Although people were consistently leaving out. Told us he could do us a favor and let the kids use the splash section but he didn’t WANT us in the pool! BUT then let in a group of big booty girls (5) to be exact. Same as our party, at literally 640pm! Unserious!
It's always kept clean and the lifeguards don't play. Always feel safe and happy there. Bonus: it's right across from Fishtown Rec Center, where you can sit at shaded picnic tables for a post-swim snack. Due to space limitations, no deck chairs allowed.
Went for the grand opening and the pool is pretty nice! There were no chairs setup and I don’t know the chair policy.
So glad there is a place to cool off in this summer heat. Free entry and lifeguards for any/all children. I'll definitely be back any time we need a good swim. Only drawback is it doesn't get deeper that 5ft. But that's okay. It's a wonderful way to spend an afternoon.
Very clean pool with a lot of life guards. Wish there were more shaded areas
