What are people saying (AI review summary)? The British Swim School generally receives positive feedback for its patient, engaging, and structured instructors who effectively teach swim skills, help children overcome timidity, and adapt to different learning styles, including for children on the autism spectrum. Many parents report seeing quick progress and increased confidence in their children, with some continuing enrollment for several years. However, a significant concern is raised regarding the school's management, described as poorly organized, especially concerning scheduling and communication. Issues include an un-family-friendly environment due to lessons being held inside a gym with adults in the hot tub, ineffective makeup lessons where instructors don't coordinate progress, and unhonored credits for missed classes once enrollment ends, leading to a perception that the program is still new and lacks the consistency of more established schools.

WONDERFUL LESSONS I signed up for swim lessons for my 3 yr old through Gilbert Parks & Rec and this was the assigned school through their partnership. My daughter was excited but very timid and would push back about her face (ears and nose) in the water. They taught her and us (her Dad & I) great skills to help her acclimate. The engagement, patience, and structure from the teachers was amazing! We also had a billing issue and they helped resolve it quickly and with clarity and I really appreciated that. We will look into using this school again in her next season of learning!
Great and patient instructors. My daughter has been with British Swim School since 3 years now . I have seen her grow so fast. They focus on her every skills and help her correct them effectively. I love the way they push a lil harder to next level assess them in their every class so kids can learn better . I have tried other schools to but this one fit us perfectly well .
It’s been an amazing experience so far! My son is learning so quickly, and we’ve seen real progress in a short amount of time. The instructors are patient, supportive, and always encourage him to do his best. He looks forward to every class, and it’s great to see his confidence growing in the water. Highly recommend this swimming school to any parent looking for quality instruction in a positive environment! It’s also a wonderful place for kids on the spectrum—everyone is kind, understanding, and knows how to support different learning styles.
I truly wanted to love this swim program. Shauna is an outstanding instructor, and her teaching is the only positive aspect of our experience. Unfortunately, the program as a whole is poorly managed and very disorganized. Because the lessons are held inside EOS/LA Fitness, the environment doesn’t feel family-friendly. For example, adults frequently sit in the hot tub during lessons, which creates an uncomfortable atmosphere for parents and kids alike. Scheduling and communication are another issue. Makeup lessons are ineffective since coaches don’t coordinate—each one starts from scratch instead of building on prior progress. Even worse, lessons missed due to illness or pool closures were not honored once enrollment ended, despite the fact that these were lessons we had already paid for. At other established swim schools, families are given a reasonable grace period to use makeup credits. This program is still very new, and it shows. For parents seeking a reliable, consistent swim school experience, I would recommend looking elsewhere.
I love the safety first objectives that have made my kids more confident in the water. Also, my son is autistic and they have made adjustments in teaching strategies that have helped him understand and progress, such as using pecs cards. I am so glad I tried British Swim School.
