Lanes for lap swimming, plus a heated outdoor area and a gym with cardio equipment.
The competition/lap pool at Cactus Aquatic & Fitness Center is typically maintained at a temperature of approximately 78-80°F (25.5-26.6°C). The leisure or teaching pool, which is often used for swim lessons and general recreation, is generally kept slightly warmer, usually around 82-84°F (27.7-28.8°C).
What are people saying (AI review summary)? Cactus Pool is highly recommended for lap swimming, featuring two 25m outdoor heated pools. It's praised for being larger than other local pools, offering cooler water suitable for serious swimmers, and providing clear water quality. At $6 (Apple Pay accepted), it's considered a great value for drop-ins, often allowing swimmers a lane to themselves. Facilities include clean, well-maintained changing rooms with strong showers, cubicles, and three gym areas. While some past reviews mentioned issues with 'toxic' energy from lifeguards unfamiliar with pool policy and excessively loud, inappropriate music, a recent update indicates these problems have been addressed, with reduced music volume, polite guards, and a generally peaceful deck experience, leading to renewed high recommendations.

Great for lap swimming. Highly recommend I was in Phoenix on business and Uber’d from hotel. Things to note: - 2x 25m lap outdoor heated pools - $6. Apply Pay accepted. No ID required. Pay and go - Changing rooms whilst basic are spotless with strong showers and cubicles for belongings (bring a padlock if you wish) - Google map times accurate. I went Sunday at 9am - Had a lane to myself - Blue skies guaranteed (almost)! What’s not to like?
Excellent, the drums and flute wonderful, the host and guided breathing was great, felt nice and relaxed and rejuvinated!
Size: Larger than Eldorado or Chaparral, with long course capability, although usually split into two 25s. Water Temp: The water is cooler than Eldorado, accommodating more rigorous sets, for more serious swimmers. There is some age group diversity, and the deck includes bleachers, with limited chairs. Water Quality: The water is clear. Gym: There are three gym areas, one for aerobic, one for strength training, one dance studio. Energy/Vibe: Cactus pool has it's own distinctive energy, that can sometimes be toxic, with some lifeguards unfamiliar with pool policy. I witnessed one guard trying to prohibit swimming underwater, when the policy is that underwater swimming, up to one length is allowed. Buckle up if your trying to swim seriously because certain guards might be on a power trip. Music: At some points, the staff frequently blasted music to the point of being annoying if your head isn't underwater. The music selection was not always family appropriate, with lyrical content often suggestive of general debauchery. If it wasn't content, the amplitude of the radio was unreasonably loud, completely destroying any chance of peacefully relaxing on deck. Bring headphones or earplugs. It was horrendous, and even worse because the location had potential to be pleasant, but the blasting radio ruined it if you were on deck. The guards needed some leadership and oversight in this regard. Update: The obnoxiously loud amplitude of the music has been reduced in recent times. Therefore this location again stands at a full five stars. Guards are polite. The deck experience is normally peaceful. Recommended.
This pool maybe one of the oldest but it is well maintained. Bathrooms are kept clean too!
