Stylish bar, restaurant and lounge inside the W Scottsdale hotel.
The Cottontail Lounge itself does not have its own pool, but it is adjacent to the W Scottsdale's WET Deck pool. The hotel's pools are generally heated for guest comfort, though a specific, constantly maintained temperature is not publicly specified.
What are people saying (AI review summary)? Cottontail Lounge generally receives praise for its stylish, mid-century chic design, vibrant indoor-outdoor atmosphere, and innovative cocktails, making it a popular spot for various occasions from brunch to late-night dancing. Guests often enjoy the lively music and find the overall ambiance fun and inviting, particularly for those staying at the W Scottsdale. However, common criticisms include high drink prices and music that can be excessively loud near the bar. A significant point of contention is the lack of non-alcoholic (NA) options on the menu, with one review noting a poorly executed custom NA drink. Most critically, one review detailed a highly negative experience involving unhelpful staff, confusing ID handling, and being unjustly barred from re-entry and accused of intoxication, leading to feelings of disrespect and a vow never to return.

Cottontail Lounge at W Scottsdale is one of my favorite rooftop spots in Old Town Scottsdale! The mid-century, chic design, comfy daybeds, and marble bar create a stylish yet relaxed atmosphere. Their cocktails are innovative and well-balanced, and the bar snacks hit the spot. I love the indoor-outdoor space, it’s got shade for daytime visits and heaters for cooler evenings. Whether you're brunching, catching sunset drinks, or dancing to the DJ on weekend nights, it’s elevated, vibrant, and fun. Definitely a must-visit in Scottsdale!
Nice atmosphere here. Asked for a NA mojito and received some fizzy lime juice with a salad of mint on top. I watched her make it and it was clear she had no idea about proportions of the mixer & simple syrup, and never muddled it. To be fair, mojitos aren’t on the menu, but also to be fair, they had no NA options. 1 star for menu not being inclusive to all guests and not knowing how to make a mojito.
Great vibe here. Hung out here before going out and had some great drinks while listening to good music. Lively. Would recommend when staying at the W
Music is too loud by the bar...but by the pool it's fine. Drinks are spendy...but atmosphere was fun and inviting
We purchased tickets for a party after the WM open. It was 4 women for a fun girls night out. When we arrived and put our card down they asked for our ID. I told the waitress I wasn't comfortable giving her my ID, so she handed one back to me. When it was time for us to close out, my girlfriend went before me to get her ID and they told her they didn't have it. She asked for a manager. The manager was unhelpful, and acted rude to her and gave her no solution except... we don't have it. I finally came up after about 5 minutes and looked in my purse. They had handed me her ID when I requested mine initially, so the issue was solved very quickly and my ID was found and returned to me. I thought nothing of the interaction. We then went downstairs to find our other friend who was helping someone get an uber. When we couldn't find her, we tried to go back upstairs to get her and they barred the entry saying we were inebriated and they could tell because we were "stumbling". I had 3 drinks in 3 hours and was not intoxicated. I am a 50+ YO doctor and have never been treated with such disrespect in my entire life. I argued about getting let in to find my girlfriend. Juan (name he told me at least) insisted that he would not let me back in and to just "text" my friend and even tried to stop us from heading to the downstairs bar. It was the most bizarre interaction I have ever had at an establishment. I finally was able to convince them after about 20 minutes that I needed to find our friend so we could leave. I am still fuming. We paid money to attend this lame party and were treated like drunk 20 year olds with fake IDs. I am a titanium Marriott member and timeshare owner. I will never go back.
