Public facility featuring a waterslide, swimming lessons, and a kids' pool, plus birthday parties.
During its operating season, the pools at Deer Valley are typically heated to a comfortable range of 80-82 degrees Fahrenheit for swimmer comfort, consistent with other City of Phoenix aquatic facilities.
What are people saying (AI review summary)? Reviews for Deer Valley Pool are mixed. Many praise it as an amazing, family-friendly, and affordable option, with a good size for all ages, plenty of lifeguards, and often clean facilities and friendly staff. Its structured Starfish swim program is highlighted as a seasonal favorite for kids to learn essential skills, with classes being nominally priced. However, a significant negative review describes the pool as dirty with grass and dirt at the bottom, water tasting like urine, red rust, and issues with people openly smoking cannabis, leading to a strong smell and the pool being described as "ghetto." Another minor drawback mentioned is the short, unextendable 30-minute duration of swim class sessions.

Every summer, our kids light up at the thought of swim lessons at Deer Valley Pool. It’s a reliable highlight of the season that keeps them eager and engaged. The well-structured Starfish program helps children grow more comfortable in the water and master essential skills like floating, rolling, and stroke techniques.
Very disappointed. I go every year and I went yesterday. The bottom of the pool was dirty with dirt and grass. The water tasted really bad like a lot of people had peed in it, like A LOT. There's red rust on the inside of the pool. People are openly smoking weed, I smelled it everywhere, shouldn't have to explain to my kid with that smell is. This pool has gotten really ghetto.
This place is absolutely amazing for the family. It's a perfect size pool for kids and adults. Very clean overall and well maintained. There are plenty of lifeguards around to watch everyone. I recommend this pool to families for sure. Adults are 3 dollars, and kids are free. It doesn't get any better.
Best way to beat the heat. Nominally priced. They also organize swimming classes in multiple batches(15$ for a 8day session of 30min each day). Make sure to book your slots fast as it gets closed immediately. But the timing per batch is just 30min which cant be extended!
My family, we love this pool! Pool and bathrooms are kept nice and clean and the staff are friendly and helpful.
