What are people saying (AI review summary)? The Baldwin pool is currently closed for rehabilitation in 2024 and 2025, with a hopeful reopening by the 2027 season. The renovation, which includes plans for a liner and zero-entry, is facing delays due to high bids. Historically, when open, the pool received mixed reviews. Many praised it as a great, inexpensive community resource, open to all (including non-residents) with reasonable rates. Positives included its cleanliness, friendly staff, sufficient and diligent lifeguards, and being a good place for socializing. Visitors appreciated being able to bring their own food and Coast Guard-approved life jackets. However, the pool, being over 50 years old, was showing its age, with issues such as the bottom falling apart, the removal of the diving board, and the lack of hot food at the snack bar (only junk food available). Other criticisms included the lack of chairs (requiring visitors to bring their own) and occasional concerns about the cleanliness of the women's bathroom. Despite some recent updates like new chairs and shade, the need for a comprehensive overhaul was evident.

As of 2024 pool has been closed for rehab. This is a great pool for being over 50 years old. Yes it is showing its age a little bit but I am glad that we still have a pool. The times listed are incorrect. The times are Monday through Friday noon til 8 pm and weekends and holidays noon til 6pm. Don't know where somebody changed the time by phone. There isn't any chairs so you need to bring your own. There is food but just chips, ice cream, candy, pop, water so just junk food. You can bring our own food and eat at your towel or chair. Great place to hang out and socialize with the many people that come from all over since we are the only pool in the area that let's anybody in that is not a resident. You can't have any type of inflatables except for infant floats. You can also bring your own Coast Guard approved life jacket or Puddle jumpers or borrow them from the pool. So come and have fun for the day. As of 2024 pool have been closed. Will be closed in 2025 also. Bidding process for rehab is going longer due to high bids and not enough money. Hopefully will be open for the 2027 season with a liner and zero entry and updates.
Open to all. Season and day passes at reasonable rates. Sign up online on the Borough's website and pay at the first time at the gate if you desire a season pass. Cash or check. Gendered dressing rooms were the only way in and the women's showers were out of order. Everything else was well maintained. Bring cash for day pass and snack bar. $5 non residents after 4pm is a good deal.
I love Baldwin pole! It's very clean. The people are nice. They have more than enough people lifeguards. Very I was just redone so it's it's nice they have new chairs and things to get some shade. It seems really nice the only thing I don't like. Is the women's bathroom. Don't know about the men's It just seems that perhaps it could be a little cleaner don't like the sink in there. Other than that it's a great place to swim it's never too busy.e so it's nice. It's inexpensive anybody can go there you just pay cash or check. Sign your name and you can get in there earlier in the day it's more money I think it's like $9 and then it's like $6 after 3 o'clock. Really nice place to swim good for kids and adults.
To the person who gave this pool low starts for the website being incorrect - that is not what the rating is for - why didn’t you send an email letting them know. I’ve been to many pools around Pittsburgh and I have to say that is one is fantastic. It is clean, the lifeguards are diligent without being overly strict with pool toys and floats. We had a great time and will be back often. Thanks for the work you do.
This pool has gone downhill so much in the past few years. No more diving board, the bottom of the pool is falling apart, and no more hot food.. But one good thing I will say is that the staff are very friendly and the patrons are great as well. But the way the borough is maintaining this pool is a joke. If someone from the borough is reading this please for the love of god fix this pool before next summer!
