This is a family friendly spot to take children of all ages. My daughter is 4 and enjoyed all the pools. She is not tall enough for the slides but there is still plenty for her to do. The pizza spot is also our favorite place to eat while visiting! We opted for platinum passes this year & we’ve gotten our moneys worth thus far. I would def recommend!
I went to Sandcastle Water Park for the first time yesterday and this place is beautiful. I was amazed at how clean and lush the place felt. I know the place has been around for a while, but with few exceptions the place felt well maintained. Now the rub. All the employees I came in contact appeared to be under 20 or over 80 and were either rude or clueless. I’m sure this had to do with a “difficulty hiring” or “no one wants to work” which is code for poor management.. I mention the difficulty in hiring because staff was almost the reason I didn’t even enter the park, no one could answer my questions regarding questions to the new season pass I had just purchased. At one point the person at the customer service desk told me I should refer to the web site for the answers to my questions. Still not sure why they even bother with a customer service desk. For all the tomfoolery and attempts by ownership to fail this business, this place felt nice. A good water oasis by the river. I liked how the rides and pools are spaced to help limit overcrowding in any one area. This feature allowed for sunbathing and relaxing areas to be more peaceful. Lockers are available, but they are all located inside the park, and are not cheap. Food and drink seemed reasonable. Shaded picnic area outside the front gate. If you don’t plan to come by car, the GAP trail runs right next to the front gate, which is on the back side of the parking lot entrance. No lockers outside the park. Bike racks not convenient. Lockers are not cheap.
Seemed like park was understaffed took forever to get into the the park then seemed like half food places and attractions were closed. The attractions that were open were nice. I rented one of the two seat cabanas by wave pool and it was real nice. The pavement got super hot next time I will wear my slides between attractions. Lol
Not worth the regular rate -- only go when it's discounted. There isn't much to do when rides are all opened, but from what I've heard and seen today, they regularly have at least 3 to 4 rides closed every day. Today three slides and the lazy river were closed. Also, please someone send an adult into the Potato Patch to supervise the workers. There was a long line of people waiting for food while four girls were surrounding the potato slices sink with their arms elbow deep in the water PLAYING WITH the potato slices. They were then filling their gloves with water to make water balloons and flinging the potato slice water around the kitchen. They were also blowing up their gloves with air with their mouths, putting the same gloves on, and serving people. Totally unacceptable. I give three star because the rides are definitely fun, but your employees suck (with the exception of the life guard on Dragon's Den asking trivia questions. He was very nice). Pay better to get better employees. Lord knows with a $25 parking fee and all the other ways you nickel and dime guests, you can afford it.
The slides and overall quality it great, but the parking costs more on the weekend and it wasn't specified and half of the slides and the lazy river was closed but we still had to pay full price for more time in lines and less time doing the stuff we paid for. I think it was because they were understaffed with college loss going back to school which I get, bit it doesn't seem like paying for all of the slides and whatnot only to be able to enjoy half of them is fair...I don't mean to sound like a complaining mamby pamby but that might be too late. Nice place to visit and cool location, maybe just call ahead and see what's up and running/confirm prices!
